How do you like the carbon fiber slide for bass? I’ve thought about getting one but unsure if it changes the sound too much? Your sound is clean and clear and decently thick though so maybe it doesn’t change much?

It is a little different. You would have to try one yourself to know if you would like it. Quicker response and slightly brighter.

Just takes practice. Practice pitch bends as well. That helps.

I use a Wick 2AL for low bone work on my tenor w/F attachment. A similar mouthpiece might help with a straight bone trying to get false tones.

It’s lighter which means the slide is easier to start/stop moving. It’s more agile that way
