An option for third person would be kinda cool but there are so many dialogue/ story moments that only work in first person. The game really gets in your face sometimes and it makes important moments feel really extreme in a cool way. Like imagine the confrontation with Royce on the couch in all foods in a third person game. It would either look like shit or take you out of the seamless transition by doing that “zoom into your characters head automatically” thing. Cyberpunk is so focused on fully immersing you in night city and first person is the most effective way to do that.

I didn’t even know it didn’t have the option for third person until like a month before it came out. Ngl almost ruined it for me and definitely would have been way better with it

Big difference is that cutting down mongols in Tsushima becomes extremely stale. You just switch to the right stance and mash heavy attack. Its fun for the first 5 hours, the game expects you to do it for 50.
