Any news on what currency Scotland will use and who will pay their pensions underwrite their mortgage insurance debt and borrowing? Or what will replace GB military and associated investments and jobs ? Or how Scotland will manage the new customs and tariff border with England?

I believe the plan is to: -use Sterling until a switch over is made. -have all new mortages in the new currency. Exsiting ones will probably run as is until currency switch. -have a Scottish central bank. -have the border with England operate like NI to Ireland does, I guess. It works there. Alternatively just like the Swiss border to the EU.

Well, it ‘should’ be so… Or, rather: it ‘should have been’ that way, actually… I’m afraid, though, my generation (b. 1956 -) has been attending ‘live’ the sudden agony of humanism, for the last two decades. And the Tech revolution clearly won’t help at all move on in any righter - more reasonable - direction. On the contrary, it will just accelerate at light speed the final chapter of the Homo ‘sapiens’ saga. Until the global crash into the Wall. 🫥

Grateful to You Tube for its liberality, its democratic mindset of providing a platform for "both sides," actually many competing points of view, but today there seems to be two kinds of people, those who prefer CNN, and those who prefer FOX. I watch both every day (my mother refuses to watch CNN), and CGTN to boot. I don't use Twitter much, but I cannot resist commenting on these You Tube talks: Everything from Scott Ritter and Douglas MacGregor, to Fukuyama, and then any philosopher or sage, Eastern or Western, not to mention your favorite music, including both live and studio performances. It's all mind-boggling. I know that the Chinese do not have this kind of freedom. CGTN does paint a pretty rosy picture of China, but its reporting on Ukraine is far from "rosy." I mean, while refraining from bashing Russia, it nonetheless, more ore less "objectively," reports what's going on over there in this horrific war. I've not read any of Fukuyama's books except for "America at the Crossroads." Yet, thanks to these videos, I have a sense of where he stands on the crucial issues of our time. I suspect President Xi, who is a briliant intellectual, has read "The End of History and the Last Man," and has taken it to heart. At any rate, CGTN is doing its best to try to show that China, in its current phase, while not an American-style democracy, none the less strives to implement policies tha improve the lives of its people. So, while I would not want to live in a place that restricts what I can and cannot watch in the media (I mean, that is decent--our society is indecent in that you watch anything)...still, it is hard to watch our own society get worse and worse in quality, with extraordinary levels of violence, with 117k overdoses per year; with $$$ in D.C. that precludes any real "liberal democracy." The ideal society, in my book, would have the public safety and public order (real law enforcement) of China, with the freedom to do the humanities that we have here.

_Pund,_ the Scottish currency from the 1200s. England, a few centuries later, added an _'o'_ and adopted it. We simply drop the _'o'_ and embrace our old currency. Two mints, I believe, in Scotland, already printing Scottish banknotes, so I don't see a problem. Hansard, last week, finely admitted the Act of Union 1707 never gave Wastemonster any territorial rights, so we'll take back our 95% of the oil and gas fields and the revenues they plundered, plus interest accrued, naturally. *SHELL* posted profits, at the start of this year, which stood at *£32.2 billion!* Scottish oil, _our_ oil. Wastemonster taxed them at 75%, so they walked away with *£8.05 billion.* Of the remaining *£24.15 billion,* Wastemonster, in their largesse, on the profits of _our_ oil, gave us just *£5.313 billion* and they pocketed the remaining *£18.837 billion* How long were we being ripped off...every penny our's? How long did they suppress the _McCrone Report?_ The oil, itself? We leave it in the ground, use it to sell Gilts to underpin a Central Bank of Scotland, while we await return of the gold we used to underpin Scotland's banks, 'borrowed' by Brown, when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer. 700 tons was a figure I heard bandied about at the time. Regardless, we'll require it's return, plus interest accrued on that, too. Energy? Oh, that's simple... We produce 80% of our energy needs, via renewables, then it's chucked straight into the National Grid and we get nothing. Insult is added to injury, as we then have to pay market price to use any of that energy. We can easily raise output to cover our needs and be charged a small, nominal sum above running costs. We can increase output further and sell it to England at mates rates. My quarrel isn't with the good folk of England, who have been as equally misled delberately lied to and manipulated, as the rest of the world has. No, my problem is with the snakes in human skin, slithering the corridors of Wastemonster. It could do no harm to share our bounty with our Southern neighbours. A three century bond is an historical achievement and rancour against the innocent is not conducive to future relations. Besides, many of us have family and friends living in England. Let's not forget the shared assets, either. I had a look at those, some years back and was recently reminded by a vid, here on yt. There's the BoE, Houses of Parliament, House of Lords, Big Ben, Downing Street, Portcullis House, etc, along with the museums, various estates and plots of land accounting for around 18% of London. Outwith that there are 13,900 buildings, even larger estates, larger plots of land and we mustn't forget MOD property and everything in, on and under it, from paperclips to tanks, from binders to nuclear attack subs. A Road, there are 84 embassies, don't forget. It totalled, around a decade ago, to about *£13.8,000 billion!* That's thirteen point eight thousand billion. Takes the breath away, doesn't it? Of course, we only get 22%, but, all the same, our *£3.036,000 billion,* three point zero three six thousand billion is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, wouldn't you agree? Scotland is rich with an abundance of other resources and our economy is, again, growing, no thanks to Wastemonster, which has always been reluctant to promote Scotland abroad. We possesses a diaspora, all over the world, most of it willing to come back to their roots, generations away from home, hesitant, until they see we have rid ourselves of the overbearing, lying, bullying, manipulating, thieving partner that has held us with the door locked, thwarting our escape for centuries in the manner all narcissists do, belittling us, in order to feel better about themselves, the MO of all colonists. Just think, our people from all corners of the world, swelling our ranks, bringing fresh blood, ideas and, of course, knowledge and wealth. A trade deal with EFTA, plus the other 138 or so countries outside of the EU, a strong economy, a strong currency, maybe some reasons to take longer in deciding if EU membership is really the right move. And what of our Sovereignty? Every man, woman and child in Scotland a Sovereign in their own right, with higher authority in our own land than the government, indeed, than the English monarchy, both contracted to and therefore answerable to we, the Sovereigns, could we then subjugate ourselves to a European Parliament, knowing we stand in equal stature with the entire English Parliament and even outrank them in Scotland? I'm not so sure we could hand that control over to others, besides we can't, under the _Scottish Constitution,_ which clearly states our Sovereignty cannot be given away, sold, bought or taken. As it said: _"With great power comes great responsibility."_ I'll finish this novelette on the subject of the 2014 Indyref (which is a nonsense, in and of itself) in which both the labour and tory parties lied, made false promises and did their best to scaremonger. Sadly, they were successful. Let's start with labour... Lie No:1 Their slogan, _Better Together._ Aye, right. Smh. Lie No:2 _Vote NO to secure our place in Europe._ One word...Brexit. Lie No:3 _Vote NO to save 2,000 HRMC Income Tax jobs._ The jobs were lost. Lie No:4 _ Vote NO or companies like_ Scottish Widows _will leave Scotland,_ They did anyway and are now based in London. Lie No:5 _Vote NO to secure the building of frigates on the Clyde._ The factory was shelved. Lie No:6 _Vote NO to save British Steel jobs._ Wastemonster did nothing, gave no support and it was the Scottish govt that saved the jobs. Lie No:7 _Vote NO or subsidies for Scotland's renewable energy sector will stop._ It stopped, regardless. Lie No:8 _Vote NO or redundancies will occur in the oil industry._ It now suffers mass unemployment. Lie No:9 _Vote NO or lose the HS2 route planned for Scotland._ It was later deemed there is 'no business case' for a fast train service to Scotland. Lie No:10 _Vote NO or lose £1 billion to develop_ 'Carbon Capture and Storage' _technology._ It was cancelled. Lie No:11 _Vote NO and Scotland's Parliament will be made permanent._ It never happened. Lie No:12 _Vote NO and receive DevoMax, Home Rule or near Federalism._ Not one was granted. They were ably supported by the tories... Lie No:1 _Vote NO, "as Scotland should be leading the UK, not leaving it"._ On the day the NO vote was delivered Wastemonster intriduced EVEL, an act that ensures no Scot can ever, again, be a UK Prime Minister. Lie No:2 _Vote NO and receive a £200 billion North Sea oil boom investment._ It never materialised. Edinburgh University's Post-vote analysis showed *37%* of NO voters had believed Scotland would have received far greater powers, while 10% were divided between YES or NO. Had they been honest, then that 37% would have comfortably ensured Scotland would have revoked the union and we wouldn't be in the current mess, but, hey, when has Wastemonster ever been honest? 😂😂😂 Thanks for reading!

Prof. Chomsky points out that only a few countries are actually benefiting from prolonging the war in Ukraine (the primary beneficiary being the US). He points out that it is now pretty much clear that Russia will not capitulate, and as such the only way to end this war is through a negotiated settlement. Some now argue that the war should go on in order to improve Ukraine's negotiating position, which is dismissed by Chomsky. Ukraine is suffering badly as the war goes on. "So let's tell the truth: we have to fight the war, continue the war, to weaken Russia and strengthen ourselves at the cost of everyone else, mainly Ukrainians."
