managed to take the underside casing off, but none of my screw drivers fit the screws, the "screws" look more like rivets, so pretty much a useless video

The ribbon that connects the L1 and L2 was already loose, the one side not connected to the motherboard and it came out. This might be the most tedious thing I’ve tried to put back in a long time. Can I kinda be rough with it or is it very delicate? Edit: NVM I was able to eventually put above the slot then just tap it in with the screw driver head.

Definitely helpful! My niece got something sticky around the square key and it wasn't popping back up... Disassembled after a bit of a fight with the frame (popping it open on the outer side of the L and R keys helped a ton! Then near the ext. and headphones holes...). Don't be afraid to take it apart following these instructions, I didn't even need to search up how to reassemble it back together. The only tricky bit was the board's optic cable and i used tweezers to help with that

Yeah. Ripped one of the 2 mics ribbons when lifting the circuit board. Definitely found that step after that in another video with a clear warning ⚠️ well i know where the thumbs up goes and just buying a new controller now.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! It was tough taking apart something for the first time but this video helped so much and it actually rlly did fix my stick drift issue (even when the insides weren't visibly dirty). It was impossible for me to put the front case back on without removing the touchpad! I would recommend just taking it out first haha

I have experienced unexplained incidents in my house as well. I heard pounding on my front screen door a couple of times in the middle of the night and no one there. I have a pantry door that's difficult to close and then open up again so I always leave it open. One early morning I got up,went to the kitchen and found it closed. I live alone. I have captured a few unexplained EVPs like the faint sound of music and the whimper of a child

Helped me a lo t when I noticed that loading in games were absolutely stupid. I took it apart (thanks to you), replaced (Cloned) HDD with an SDD Samsung, popped it back in, did OSU1 USB, installed and everything went fine. Thanks so much <3 Good video

@uniqueamusements well no, but the issue there lies in these consoles need updated periodically and if you dont keep it updated, new games wont work. There are parental settings that can set up cerfews for kid owned consoles.

Btw those ribbon cables dont connect your l2 r2 l1 r1 buttons in fact you dont need them its just the haptic feedback and every cable removed and the controller will still work. You just need the big blue cable on the top for the controller to function as a regular controller that is without haptic feedback, a mic, and mute button

Are you still active on KZbin, i have few questions if you may. Why is my controller buttons (touchpad, start and select) has sticky/ like they make loud clicking and get kinda stuck momentarily when pressed. I bought it second hand, it works good otherwise but it's kinda annoying. Is this fixable by taking it apart maybe the previous owner didn't put parts back correctly

I can only assume youve had the controller for a long time. Dirty hands are the culprit, My friend. It happens. Take it apart and give it a good cleaning.

@@Drumblanket it is second hand and i bought it like this. I followed your video and decided to disassemble it, it was mostly clean but with some build up on the side of the touch pad, i grinded it and when i put it back together it was good again. I am good with ps3 controllers, the ds4 was much more annoying, especially reattaching the back cover flex cable. I also swapped the battery, but battery life is still bad. It charges very fast less than 1 hour and doesn't last more than 3~4hours max. Is this common with v1 controllers?? It's the first v1 ds4 i ever use. My main v2 controller lasts which came with my ps4 slim lasts 8~10 hours easily.

I can’t get the shell to come apart. I have tried using various methods, but up near the trigger buttons, I just can’t get it. I don’t want to break it. I wish there was a better way to see how to pull to get it off. I have worked up the sides using plastic tools, tried pulling and pushing. It’s just not working.
