Honestly I found Below Zero less scary to play I think only because I found some of the creatures to just be like cooler looking rather than scary. I think Subnautica scared me way more because I think reaper leviathans are some of the scariest fucking things from their design alone and also how like if you make one bad turn into a biome there are like four trying to eat you. Where with below zero you kinda knew where to gauge it was ok to swim more often

I just realized, that a leviathan is REALLY close to the drop pod, like it’s really fricking close, just think, past the bridge biome, and boom there’s the first area with a leviathan class creature in it

It’s not as close as the reapers are in the OG subnautica. I mean, the life pod is usually pretty close to the back of the aurora and we all know what’s waiting for us there.

@@monsterchic162 Yeah, Reapers are way closer. Remember, back before launch, Reapers used to casually stroll into the Shallows because they were already so close to it and would aggro on the smaller fish in it then casually lock on to the player. You'd be in the literal starting area and bam here comes the pain train. Especially since at one point, their roar was bugged and lacked directional audio so when they attacked you'd just hear it coming from all directions.

Well thats bc subnautica below zero completion area is very low like around 700 meters to 800 meters so yeah + they only put the depth for vehicles depending on how deep the map is in a upgrade module but wanna know why they do that? Bc they don,t want u to fall to the void to deep so theres ur answer.

Appearance aside, the Reaper spawn locations make it way more terrifying than the chelicerate, especially near the crash zone where visibility is poor. Also the chelicerate is just way too silent for what it is making it seem way more docile than it actually is.
