As @Hymenostomata says, it's a nice video, but the ciliate is misidentified. Plagiopyla would have a deep transverse (not oblique) furrow, lined with polykinetids (lacking here), and a contractile vacuole in the posterior of the cell (not subcentral). This is Colpidium colpoda.

White blood cells show great detail but why are the Red Blood Cells showing no detail even under DIC ?

Hi, that's just the way they are, RBCs have a smooth external membrane, and no features visible under a light microscope. They are carrying hemoglobin inside, also no visible features.

@@BTNE_Videos So even the great Differential Interference Contrast method (which is great and expensive :) ) can't get detail from a red blood cell. That's unfortunate I was thinking about getting a DIC but if they can't resolve anything under visible wavelengths from a RBC then something else seems required. Thanks.

Great video! I believe two species of "Adineta" are featured. Most of the footage looks like "Adineta steineri" species, characterized by the long whiskers, the egg with many protrusions, and the shape of the spurs, among other things. Also could be A. barbata. But at the end there is some footage that seems to correspond to another species of Adineta.
