I fell in love with Stefan Jackiw's Ann Arbor performance of the Korngold Concerto and have been looking around for that one specifically. I heard it play on the radio and it's gorgeous. Is there anywhere it can be purchased, or is it at least available somewhere online to listen to?

the days of the BIG sound are gone... Now we have light airy bowing, good intonation. I miss the powerful Rostropovich/Starker sound.

Wasn't Starker known for being fairly quiet in performances?

I love listening to the highest level of cello like this. As someone who started learning late in life, it inspires me so heavily to practice and give my all every day so I can reach this level of playing someday when I have worked hard enough to do so. I have already practiced for two and a half hours today and had an hour lesson, but this just makes me want to go stretch and give it another go.

I saw this concert tonight. What was the last song played? I know it is from Mario but don't know specifically what it is and I can't find it anywhere.

Very nice phrasing,a little too flautando for my taste. Difficult to watch,want to comb back his bangs off his forehead. But otherwise terrific.

Why would you say the meeting probably never happened when it was documented by Czerny (Listz teacher and Beethoven student). Czerny told the story...????

Fantastic performance. Thank you. I went to a big music store in Manhattan and wasn't able to get Bach Partita for Flute in A Minor (arr. for cello). It is not available. I would like to play it. Perhaps you can help me find it.

Really well done and enjoyable. Thank you. Question--what is the squarish object on the floor in front? At one time I see Caroline Kim tap it with her foot.
@AnnArborSymphony4 жыл бұрын
We're so glad you enjoyed the performance! The square object on the floor was a remote pedal so Caroline could turn the pages of music on her iPad with her foot while playing.
