As with any product, it's all about who installs it. I recently had a roller door fitted. It is now about 85% of a good job after the company I bought from took 4 visits to get it it to where it is now. Needless to say I will not be recommending, or using them again. Pride in ones work sadly is a distant memory these days.

If we look at 1:30, what was the bottom of the door is being supported by the two upright bars, each or which is pivoting about its mounting point on the frame. So the door width, the two uprights, and the line between the two pivot points, form a parallelogram. It's nominally a rectangle, but there's really nothing holding it in that shape. So one or other side of the door will typically rub against the frame, if not immediately, then after some wear has occurred in the pivots.

Great video. When you demonstrated a slat type door you barged into it with your shoulder to show its rigidity. Is the roller door as secure? An alarm is not much of a deterrent. I Need to know my bikes are secure.👍

My up and over electric garage door.....also came with keys....I suppose for when I go on holiday........but they don't do anything......can you advise please!!

Hi The manual lock will be disconnected, the automation will keep the door secure.

Those are my favorite made garage doors you very seldom have to worry about them getting of track, if ever.

I removed 17 doors in a building the doors where caled RichardWillcox 98 glide i was told they where instaled during the first world war so ya springs are far from the best. the best is a counter balance system an estemated life cycle of 10milion modern doors have a 10k duty cycle avarage home about 10 years befor you need to change the springs.
