I think Robotnik survived mostly because I think Jim Carrey will only come back for the Sonic Movies up until the final film in the series, when Robotnik faked his death in Sonic Movie 2 and went underground he used Sonic's quill to work on Metal Sonic and probably used Shadow's quill to finish it and Metal Sonic is going to be a problem for Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy (Cindy Robinson.) Shadow will get a T.V. Yes, Shadow is returning for Sonic 4 because when the movie teases a Character, they have plans for them to return. They did for Tails, and Knuckles, now Amy. Shadow wouldn't show if no plans at all.
