I have a question ,we are having trouble with ours reading empty cartridge but they are brand new but it says replace. We have clean circuit board on the ink cartridge, did a hard rest -power down still nothing.any help would be greatly appreciated.

From what I experience with mine, you have to change the cartridges by the steps. you cannot change them without going through the steps of replacing them or they would not read the ink.

What if I dont want to Print in CMYK but I want to separate colours accordingly to colour pallete. As for example, usually I use 3rd party software such as photoshop and uses Color Range tools to get yellow, red, Green, Cyan, Blue, Magenta or any desired colours.... Can I do that that with FilmMaker?

I love how you say, it's just as simple as all that. I wish that were true!

Our video shows Illustrator, not Photoshop. If you are speaking about Photoshop and confused over line screens then you are likely using PS version CS5. That is a well documented change to Photoshop that Adobe made (no ability to control line screen from PS anymore, but we don't care about that since AccuRip has always handled that anyway).

what photoshop version is that? I have accurip and it doesn't have any ability to print screens out across my epson like that.

wow i really like this machine! as someone who has operated 5 different machines from m&r and progressive i can honestly say this looks better than all of them, the squeegee and flood system just makes alot more sense with the one piece although i would like to see an air lock instead of the push pin. the flash back system looks amazing, i use m&r's revolver mode extensively and sometimes it takes up 2 4 rounds on the machine to get the finished print and that is very time consuming

The leg inserts are 12MM threaded. I doubt you will be able to find a 12MM caster in the states. You may be able to get casters at Home Depot and fabricate brackets that would attach using the 12MM bolts, then attach the casters to the bracket?

The vacuum pump allows the film positive to be compressed tight against the screen and the glass. This prevents under-cutting of the exposure light. Your screen will hold better detail if you use an Exposure Unit with a vacuum pump.

Epson OEM inks are designed for printing paper. They may give an ok print on film, but that's not what they do best. Our "All Black Ink" has UV dye blockers that work much like sunglasses for your film positives. Using the right ink makes all the difference in the quality of your film positives.

Man I can't wait to get a press like this. Right now I only have a 1 color press. So I do my color work with transfers. It's going to be a year or better before I'll be able to get a good press like this one.

The 2-E Tension Meter is $359. No, it's not required to stretch a Newman Roller Frame. However without the meter, it's kind like putting air in your car tires without using a tire pressure gauge. You'd be in better shape than using a wood screen and someday if you also got the meter, then you'd be 100%.

Yes, there are 6 UV tuned blacklights. Exposure time on 110 mesh screen with photopolymer emulsion is 2 to 3 minutes. Higher mesh count screens are even faster.

Honecomb boards weigh much less than solid aluminum boards because they have thin aluminum tops that are bonded to a lightweight "honeycomb" material. The machine runs faster and smoother with these lighter boards and also the honeycomb material dissipates heat from the flash cure unit better. These boards are also easier to handle than much heavier solid aluminum boards.

What exactly is "HONEY COMB" I've been hearing this a lot lately in regards to oversized prints. Please get back to me, thank you.

Floor to Seam 15" Seam to top of Lid 25-1/2" Once you split the unit, each piece can flip on it's side and go easily through any door. Top of the unit is 40" Deep x 55" Wide. Thanks for the good question - Bob

Manual printers can't handle the oversized screen size or weight, not to mention the oversized board. For a cheap way to experiment, buy a set of our "Hinge Clamps" for approx $30. Use them to attach an oversized screen to a flat sturdy work table and away you go. Call me at 800-659-8337 ext 10 if you have questions.- Bob

Terry, Most new screen printers are best served starting on a manual printer, before upgrading to an automatic. Experience working with artwork, screens, ink and squeegees on a manual press makes the learning curve much easier. That said, many people start with an automatic as their first printer, but usually only when they already have an experienced screen printer lined up as an employee. I'm available at 800-659-8337 if you'd like to talk more about starting a new shop. Thanks, Bob
