Scored a Macbook Pro late 2019, i9 8 core 2.4ghz, 2TB storage, 64gb ram, integrated intel uhd 630, dedicated gpu Radeon 5300M 4gb, Space Grey for £550 Minor non visible scratches on top no other cosmetic damage. Somewhere I read that the late models were fixed/patched for ssd failures and over heating, serial number check confirms that it was registered in March 2020 (maybe was bought then too?) Was it a good deal?

Why does everything have to be sleek and shiny and smooth? A mouse is for getting things done. The Magic Mouse does not need to be so bloody magic.

I had no idea about the threaded 3.5mm audio jack, I thought it only came with the 6.3mm. Here I am using an adapted for my electric drum kit and cause i cant find any good quality adapter if it isn't in the right spot the audio cuts out. You have changed everything! Great review btw

I find that my magic mouse works best in it's original box it came in. That way I can return it faster to Best Buy, so I can get a Logitech mouse instead. This is one of the most useless items in the Apple inventory and guess what...we all fell for it!

i9 32GB ram 1TB SSD a few dings and scratches and tab key is a bit sticky but works normally. Got it for $300 of Marketplace it’s a bit worn down because the previous owner was a software engineer. But still feel like I got a steal

Love mine! The screen and speakers at such a good price are worth it for me, and i use an external GPU via thunderbolt 3 for when i need to do something more graphically intense. Great value!

Whats changed between 2009 and 2024? The reason Apple haven't touched the design in nearly 15 years is because there is no need. It is a mouse. A point and click device. The only thing to consider when buying a mouse is budget and personal preference.

Finally a quick review that is straight to the point. I bought an M1 but I soon discovered that running a different instruction set pretty well wiped out Parallels or VmWare's ability to run an effective VM. I just wish Apple had stuck with the Intel architecture. It made it compatible with a lot of applications (WHAT! Apple compatible???). Well not anymore with the M series machines.

I didn't even mind the charging port location but I draw the line at lightning cable. I am done with lightning after upgrading to USB-C. Ain't no way I am buying this no matter how good it is.

I received the mouse yesterday, and today I'm sending it back. It's awful. Mouse it so flat and inconvenient to hold in the hand. Scrolling is inconvenient and glitchy because it does both vertical and horizontal. And the worst - clicks are terrible. You have to make actual clicks, it doesn't allow you to simply tap. And when you do a click you fell that the whole mouse tilts 🤮

I've had it now for a full 4 months and it's good. I also had the Macbook Air M1 and this laptop is probably better for the same price: you get a larger screen, the touch bar which (unlikely what other people say) is very useful, since it has a GPU you can play league, minecraft (with shaders), and other games pretty well, even if it's not for gaming it performs better than the Macbook Air 2020. The speakers our loud (very strong bass), the screen is super bright, you can use it under direct light with no problem and the battery life is amazing so far (unless you're doing hard work like editing or rendering some things, which you would do with the charger connected anyway). Now, 4k video editing is off chart, however the rendering time for 1080p is much better than the M1 Mac Air and, again, at the same price point. It is fast, efficient and sleek. I'd say the only down side being a student is that is considerably heavier than the 13" inch models, but you get a lot more.

Anyone complaining about the mouse charging In the bottom just pretending they’re too busy to spare 2 mins a week to charge the thing. Not to mention getting sweat and skin rubbing off into the hole if it’s on the side.

They should have put a USB-C port at the front of the Mouse so one can use it as a wired mouse while charging. Other than that, it's a good design.

The fact they put the charging port at the bottom of the the new (2024) apple mouse anyway is a big FU to their customers & shows they don't care but with the current leadership the mouse probably "identifies" as a fucking actual cat

Do no agree, they can keep the charging port hidden and can still make it usable while charging. If they cant solve this than they should probably hire new people. They are intentionally doing it as they know what else option this world has, we will restrict all the api so all third party mouse sucks on mac. Apple is being apple and making people fool for centuries.

I have a 2019 Space Gray 16-inch MacBook Pro and it's still a powerful machine. I bought it refurbished directly from Apple. They just installed a new battery, put on a brand-new base by the keyboard, and changed the speakers for no cost because I have Apple Care + for it which you can get on their refurbished products. There are a couple of downsides to the laptop which are not a big deal. Yes, it doesn't have the M1 or later processors like the new MacBooks have with Apple Intelligence. Also, it doesn't have Wi-Fi 6, but I still get fast speeds Wi-Fi speeds up to 700 mbps.

My online student recently got one of these. He keeps accidentally right-clicking, and he can't drag and drop consistently. Somehow, it even froze our interactive curriculum. 🤔The class became too frustrating to continue the lesson. We closed the textbook and just talked. This is not for children or anyone who wants an easy-to-use product.

I've seen a few clever design integrations of charging ports on mice. This is not a design choice but a refusal. And the form? I understand "form follows function" is a cliche, but if it's something literally designed to be pushed around by my hand through a workday and gives zero care to how it feels in my hand, the cliche is reinforced. Only apple can sell this thing. Anyone else it'd be dismissed and forgotten.
