Thanks! YT age restricted this video. I bitched at them but all the did is they kept sending my automated emails saying not to hurt myself and where to get help. YT is A**hoe. I got YT to admit that the video did not violate their "self harm" policy but they would still not remove the age restriction. It is an interesting story, but younger folks may not care as it is ancient history to them. I'm working on part 3 now. Should be out before to long.

@@seemoretoys5944 That said...getting under there and trying to jam the grommet in is a NIGHTMARE. Did you remove the pedal assembly to do it? I think the geometry of the assembly is different on AP2. Mine is vertical and there's much less clearance on between the switch and the lever arm.

@@pedro.arroyo Mine is an AP1. If I remember right I wedged myself in there to pop it in. I did not have to disassemble anything to install it.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not sure whether this was a scam or they really thought that the engine's configuration would actually work in real life. I'd lean toward the scam opinion. @@seemoretoys5944 Based on the early stuff they published their founder absolutely believed in the project, and they really did get a lot of development work done with a legitimate engine manufacturer. All that is absolutely a legitimate project as far as anyone can tell. The problems seem to all have appeared later, associated with some combination of production prototyping, setting up manufacturing, and continuing to raise the funds required to keep the project going while still not getting any return on investment. A number of the fundraising efforts appear to have fallen short of the mark. Not entirely unexpected given the relative industry and business inexperience of those in charge, and the difficulty of not only breaking into a market but also setting up production from scratch.

They didn't really "make" their 4-stroke outboards. Their larger 4-strokes were repainted and relabeled Suzuki outboards and their smaller portable outboards were repainted and relabeled Tohatsu outboards. Thanks for watching and your comments!

When OMC retooled for new product during the 1980s they should have seen the EPA writing on the wall and designed cleaner running engines that would have met the EPA requirements due in the 1990s. In the late 1980s Honda knew that the EPA regulations were on the way. OMC knew it but ignored them until it was to late.
