Thank you my friend. Still trying to get the muzzle-proud DtFS better ingrained! I play my recorded videos back and that’s when I notice little things that I don’t necessarily notice on the range pushing speed. But in dry fire I am definitely seeing advantages to muzzle proud presentation. Not that I don’t want to be proficient with both. But I have been focused on snapping the pistol out of the holster and then getting muzzle proud and in my line of sight sooner, more consistently. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate the lessons learned at @Defenders-USA

@vigormindset4 ай бұрын
The instructions I printed out just said from the ready. So there’s that. That being said, I have since found other versions that specify low ready and I will happily do it again. I passed the drill pretty easily (147 out of 150), and it will be good to do it again and spice it up a little.

I love the dedication. I bet you can get that gun up even sooner than you already are :) it should be up before you start to plant your feet. Also, I recommend playing around with not breaking your grip on the shorter distances. That is at least 0.75s each time. Keep on training!

Is the goal of using the ruler to determine the return of the gun to help understand recoil control? In the slo-mo, my key takeaway was actually the movement in your thumb. It suggests changing pressure in the support hand.

Dig, my friend, so well done in facing this challenging skills assessment. This one is so deceptive, appearing easy while really is extremely difficult, and the vast majority of "gun people" would have a rough time passing this drill. The bravery to shoot this one and to log it publicly is commendable and motivating for so many of us who feel the calling to honestly assess and grow our own skills. This video is instructional and educational and shows how a strong man accepts what is in order to move into even more skill. So well done. Thank you for posting this one, and your following dry fire video as you prepare to tackle this drill again. I appreciated your time on the phone as we discussed this, and it was so good to hear you speak of the lessons learned and how it exposed areas where thoughtful work can make these skills even better next time. Motivating, Dig, and thank you being willing to be so.

Seatbelt aside, can work on seated IWB draws inside the home as well. Even when hanging on the couch watching tv or something. Doesn't look like the seatbelt is really getting in the way. It's just the motion of being crunched up in the car that's uncomfortable. Keep it up. Way to keep it real.
@vigormindset8 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yes, I do some work indoors, to approximate having to draw from a vehicle, but in my experience, it’s still significantly different than drawing from, say… my office chair, in my dry fire dojo. And then, every couple of years, I try make it to the range for some vehicular live fire training, since that obviously adds an entirely different level of challenge and processing to the experience.
