I have a new samsung 2TB external drive and when I try to use for backup time machine it gives me a red exclamation symbol and give me a message Time Machine cannot back up to this disk. I have two of these external hard drives both Samsung both 2 TB both new. Time Machine refuses to back up to either one of them. Any ideas please?

Thank you so much for this. So many place don't say this, and this is one of the big problems with document management on Macs. It's very frustrating and everyone's trying their best to explain it, but it's overly complicated. And I don't understand why they can't make it simpler 🤦🏾♂️

not working if you set a window using right or left part of the screen

It will not work if you tile it to the left or right half of screen, because tiling is remembering the original window size. But if you drag take the window to the side and manually resize it it will surely work.

@@mertmatay2887 Hello, to open up control centre on the Mac you need to click on the icon in the menu bar. It’s the one all the way in the top right corner of your screen. Next to the date and time 📆

That's a good point actually. There is unfortunately no way how to access the control centre using iPhone mirroring. I believe the option will come in future updates. 🤷♂️

there's no reason for apple to not take care of such small user experiences. I just want to make list view default for the entire finder application with large icons, and apple doesn't gives me a way to do it.

So, your view shows the folders on the left, a middle view under a Today heading and the entire body of the note on the right. This is the view I've always had and that I want but when I updated to Sequoia, my only 2 view options are with the folders on the left and a list of notes. I have to double click in order to get the full view of the note and it opens in a new window. Very inefficient! I've played with every view option but can't seem to get Notes to return to the 3 panel view. I"ll be so grateful if you can help!!

After useless (for me) info on the Apple Discussion Boards, for anyone else having this issue, I found this fix on Reddit: I had Notes open on Mac, go to gallery view. Close Notes. Then go to the iPhone, create a new note, add something in the new note, then go back to Mac, click on the Notes icon (this should trigger hands off action and continue the Notes on the Mac). This is how I see the Content Panel again on the Mac.

I was also looking through some different views and thinking what could be cause of that, but it's great you have already find the solution. It was a very weird issue. It seams that there are still some bugs which should be solved in upcoming updates to macOS Sequoia. But thank you for the information, I have again learn something new 👍👨🏼💻

I’m at 1100 notes and went from smart folders back to regular ones, because between using my phone, iPad, and Mac, tags were getting corrupted and replaced with “#…” messing everything up.

Yeah sometimes less is more. I had to present all the possibilities in the video. Different things works for different people. My favourite feature right now is to combine many notes together and just collapse the text under headings. It helped me reduced the number of notes a lot. 👨🏼💻

Hello, I would be happy to help you, but I have to be honest with you, I am not really using Outlook on my Mac so I don't really know what options are available there 🤷♂️. But it has always been an issue that these default formats for Mac and windows are not compatible. And we usually need to wait for either one of the operating systems to add any compatible file format.

How do you undo the "move to..." in the tilling options? I can not navigate my mouse down to my macbook from my external display. It seemed to have separated my safari and the only way to somehow workaround it is screen mirror but I mostly use only my external display for it. Please help.

Hello, I am no so sure how the external display works with tiling options, I haven't really tested yet. But I would recommend you to check the Display settings in system settings where you can adjust the setup of your screens.

Thank you for this info. I have used a hot corner to show all windows on my desktop for a long time. I like this way of working, as I can see all open windows clearly and choose the one I need. I still can't find anything I like about Sequoia's window tiling system. It just seems random and unintuitive, like trying to herd cats, especially on my dual screen setup. Your tips on turning off have helped a bit, thanks. I still need more though. I am also experiencing quite a few bugs in 15.0.1, like text fields not working in web browsers and finder windows. It looks like I need to upgrade to an earlier operating system.

You are very welcome, I am glad you like the video. It's always tricky to adapt to a new thing. It's still in the beginning and I believe there will be some updates to these tiling features as well. I am not using it so much either and it was really annoying with this drag to tile option. In this macOS I don't have any issues and bugs since the update. So it might be individual on different Macs, but I am sure apple will sort these bugs soon.

Hello, if you are fine to erase the whole disk it will probably solve all the issues, it's good to do it from time to time, but not many people commit to it. I am not so sure about the fat32. I am myself using APFS format. You can check my video about these formats. Hello, unfortunately the standard Mac compress feature really serves just the purpose of combining multiple files into one archive. It doesn't really compress the files in size. @@juansith4148 Hello, I’m afraid you can’t see the versions outside of the app. If you have a chance try to open it on another Mac so you will now if there is any issue with the file or just your Mac has problem opening it. Sometimes it just create an error and repeat it for no reason.
