Bhimsen Joshi is the first master of Indian classical music of the same status as that achieved by Muslims. Hats off to Joshi. I like his masterpiece of Darbari with Rashid Khan.

Tansen (also known as Mian) was a Hindu, the original Indian Classical Maestro of the Mughal darbaar. Tansen composed this Raaga.... and why make this about Hindu or Muslim? It's your problem you live in a one-religion Islamic backward state. Whereas, India anyways has thrived as multireligious and multiethnic country because of the intellectual open-mindedness of Hindu majority. And btw, I'm a Sikh Jat. Also, please show some respect. It is BHARAT RATNA PANDIT Bhimsen Joshi and USTAD Rashid Khan. Waheguru ji.

Indian classical music tradition is 11,000 years old since Krishna, when Hindu/Muslims weren't Indians as recorded in Vishnu Purana, subsequently 1000 year Muslim rule made India the richest nation on earth and had profound impact on Indian music. Amir Khosru and many others were eminent, I didn't know Mian wasn't a Muslim.@@thinkingcitizen

Thanks - I had long been looking for this Burra Khayal cheez. Heard it live 2 - 3 times earky to mid 1980s - she then dropped this & sang otger lyrics. This sounds like it is from that period or, more likely, a few years earlier, say, early to mid 1970s. Delighted to find it, many thanks
