I believe these were introduced in 1996. This fan was made by Air Cool, I have one that’s dated January of 1997, I have a video of it on my MrCeilingFanMan1999 account. The Callaway II which is the ones with the Gossamer wind blades came out in 2001.

I have one in the "bubbly verde" finish. Id say the motor is a thick 153 once opening it and its tapped for 4 blades.
@whoisthisguy724Ай бұрын
@@CasaPanaFanaLanda this one’s motor is clearly larger than 153mm but given how many changes the St. Claire went through, I wouldn’t be surprised if a version of this one with a 153 inside existed

I replaced some form of this in my mother's house a month or two ago with a Hampton bay (king of fans) industrial, because one day the remote was working and the next it just wouldn't do shit to control the fan, it was stuck on high with the light on, so I decided to just take it down and replace it with my first and only industrial, the old fan wasn't even installed right anyway as some of the blades were upside down, giving the fan a death wobble, and it wasn't attached to a fan box, but a block of wood coming down from the ceiling joist, and that was real fun to deal with.

Sounds like it has a slightly out of balance blade. Been through this with many of the Emersons that I have worked on especially the larger diameter ones like this. From what I can see in your video, it looks like the paint is in pretty good shape. Did it get a repaint?

I got this fan recently and IMHO this fan performs almost the same as the early 90 Galaxy/Lasko 16" fans but due to it's size the air volume is a lot stronger. The fan overall is well built, unfortunately for my fan I might have to replace the bracket because it has a chunk missing therefore the head is unable to stay up
@DBVintageАй бұрын
I used to have one of these. They seem to have a pretty reasonable low speed. A few years ago, a friend of mine took pictures at the Minnesota State fairgrounds, and there were quite a few of these in wall mount configuration.

Recently ordered one of these from flea bay but its still on its way but theres not a whole lot about these later ones with the OSHA grills and the different varieties offered mine is just like this one but all white and has the wood grain hunter logo and what seems to be a original yellow cord but idk if it is original or not i see yours has a yellow cord so idk if it is or not when it arrives im gonna look inside the base to see if its all original or been messed around with

Many of us, fan collectors, consider this to be one of the best fans made. Just curious as to what was wrong with each fan. I know these can have problems when the blades get bent and I have come across a couple with a bad set of windings.
@whoisthisguy724Ай бұрын
1949 fan: Blade was stuck on the motor, to the point that nothing I had on hand would work to get it to unscrew. One wing looked to have been bent severely and bent back. Amazingly, the blades were still all in true with each other but the blade that was bent had a wrinkle and pretty severe paint loss on and around the wrinkle. It would likely need to be run through a slip roller or possibly rewinged. 1953 fan: Base pan was rusted out, base had lost paint and was corroded/pitted around the bottom. The quickest and easiest solution was to condense the two down into one usable fan. This also yielded some replacement parts for another fan that will be featured on my channel relatively soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that

A brand you don’t see much of. I always thought those were neat with that dramatic style base and that slide switch.
@DBVintageАй бұрын
Those old hassock fans are neat. I currently have an older Air King with an expanded metal grille around the outside. Prior to that I had a Kisco Circulair which had a rather art. deco style.

Neat! The locking mechanical reversing feature is cool...a bit like the window fan version of Hunter's Adaptair/Reversair for ceiling fans. Although as a preteen in the late '90s my dream acquisition was the Duracraft "Twindow" with the dual 8" fans, each independently electrically reversible plus a master thermostat control. I ended up getting the Holmes version of that which I used in my bedroom for a couple of years until we moved out of the house that had double-hung windows and no central air. It's still in my parents' basement somewhere.
