Very comforting to know there are veterinarians right on the island! I did not know that. Planning a trip to the island this summer. Thanks for the info.

Mack-in-ak is not used as the pronunciation outside of several countries in Africa where English is only spoken by the minority of the population because it is confused with Candiac.

My husband and I have summered here for about 40 years. We used to bring our two sons here for summer vacation. We are now in our 70's and retired and we still come here every summer,and will continue to do so as long as we can! It is the jewel of Michigan! Thank you Mackinaw Island for welcoming us home every year.❤

We are thinking of bringing our dogs to the Island between the dates of June 7-14th for the lilac festival. It will be a day trip. What are the average temperatures on the island for the beginning to 2nd week of June? Are there any cool, sheltered areas where our dogs can get out of the sun if they get hot? Are they allowed in any buildings that may be air conditioned? Thank you, Jenna
@mackinacisland8 ай бұрын
Hi Jenna, Thanks for your message. Here are some resources for you. The average temps are 70 as a high and 50 as a low (mornings and evenings) Here's a blog post with more info: www.mackinacisland.org/blog/whats-summer-weather-like-on-mackinac-island/ There aren't any air conditioned buildings that come to mind, however, there are a number of places to rest along benches, under trees, etc. Here is a blog post about coming on a trip to Mackinac Island with your dog: www.mackinacisland.org/blog/a-dog-friendly-trip-to-mackinac-island/

The grand hotel is beautiful and historical on the outside but the rooms look like ugly overdone Disney theme rooms now. The elegance inside this once "grand" hotel is gone. So sad someone chose to ruin this hotel.

I watched a safety video for Machinac Island and was like wait. That then had me to watch another and I was like oh my.. The second video started at the Boat Ferry to the Island on the sanitation ect after each run which was great. But still found it very concerning that I never seen any emergency floating devices ( life jackets/ water tubes). The accident that happened at the Lake of the Ozarks where A storm blew in from out of nowhere a took the lives of a family that was on a rental boat and none of them had floating devices on. One never knows what mother nature or freak accident can or will occur
@mackinacisland Жыл бұрын
All Mackinac Island ferries have floatation devices and life jacks on board. Similar to airplanes, they are often hidden below benches, seats, and up in big cabinets. Thanks for checking!

Why do we not see any people of color enjoying the island, and only working on it? I've been to the Island more times than I can count, and have had the pleasure to meet wonderful people from all over the world during my visits. It's disappointing to see racial disparity of this kind both in the thought behind the planning of this video, and hose who approved it. For shame. I'm happy the Island achieve this status, but as a Michigander and Tourist, deeply embarrassed and troubled.

LMAO. Nope not one. They are outside and not a bunch of snowflakes.
@BJGvideos2 жыл бұрын
@@GP-cs5hc Do you think viruses care about "snowflakes"? Viruses don't give a damn, and they're not bound by human notions of politics. Politicizing a virus killed millions. Also sure they're outside but they're very close to each other. If they were spread out or filmed as the only person like in the rest of the promo then there wouldn't be an issue, but you can't expect me to look at this cluster of people taking zero practical precautions and expect that people will feel safe on an island that will be far more crowded than this. Don't insert divisive politics into apolitical issues. People die when that happens.

Live your life in fear. The rest of us have moved on and decided to live our lives and not be cowards.
@BJGvideos2 жыл бұрын
@@GP-cs5hc No, you've decided to MAKE everyone else afraid over your reckless disregard for public safety. This isn't a me problem. This is a you being selfish and idiotic problem. If people like you had followed basic safety and regard for others, we could have put all of this behind us. Your line of thinking LITERALLY KILLS PEOPLE and somehow I'm the one with the problem? Sicko.
