Hi just came across ur bourgainvillea propagation video, which part of the world are u in, cos m in a cold country but hv purchased this plant n trying to propagate.
@Thepracticalgardener888Ай бұрын
@kaverimulane6970 in the US. Sunny California. If you are in an area that tends to be more cold, you definitely need to propagate these things in a tent, keep the humidity, and at least 70 to 80%. So I would suggest putting it in a greenhouse or put a tent (clear plastic bag over the pot) use, perlite and potting mix or sand and potting mix and keep the soil moist, but not waterlog. Also, put it in a well lite area but not direct sunlight. Hope this helps

Oh, also, use fresh cuttings as it increases your chances.

Why can’t you take both of them for a walk at the same time?

@Thehistorygeographyandflagnerd she's roam freely and she can get hit. She's not full-time indoors. My neighbors cat the same way, too. Better safe than sorry.

So sad they only live a year on average... too precious
@Thepracticalgardener888Ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting. Yes, their life span is 1 to 2 year because they are killed by predator, ran over, or by people. They can live up to 4 years in captivity ❤

You should make them a box with some towels or a blanket. They're so cute.
@Thepracticalgardener888Ай бұрын
@B1ackWo1f13 Yeah, good idea, but don't think they'll stay in it 😊 . I'll try it. Think the mom got killed 😢. People end up hurting them because they are viewed as pest. So sad. Help spread the word ❤

Hi, I forgot to mention that I usually pollinate around 6 pm when the flower opens up, exposing the pollin, and when the close flower opens to be pollinated. Hope you get more than you know what to do with 😂😅❤

@@RumbaMoodle 👋 Thanks for commenting, and you are very welcome. I'm glad it was helpful or interesting. Happy gardening!!!!😊
@staciep2638 Oh, yes. I got it confused with sugar apple. Custard apple is cherimoya. I'm not sure. I never ate it myself. Atemoya is a cross breed between sugar apple and cherimoya, so it should taste similar and had been compared as so from online sources. Hopes this helps.

@Thepracticalgardener8882 ай бұрын
@bellastvpinaygardenerincal4418 👋 it's atemoya ❤️ super easy to grow. They are not too finicky at all and once established, u won't have to hand pollinate anymore. But hand pollination is also super easy. I will post of a hand pollination video in the coming month. I've been a little damper with this horrendous heat 🥵 thanks for commenting ❤️
@bellastvpinaygardenerincal44182 ай бұрын
@@Thepracticalgardener888 Thank for the response. I've been eyeing Atemoyas for a while a now. It's just that I wasn't so sure what varieties should I get. Just recently I made up my mind to get Lisa instead of Geffner's and African Pride. I have 2 of Cherimoya's 1 red and 1 green and can't wait for it to bear fruits next year. Yes it's been sooo hot and been killing our avocados and other tropical trees. Thank you for sharing and will check out your next videos about pollination. Your new subscriber here. My cats love grass, and will complain if I come back indoors without any for them. You can buy a bag of wheat or oat grass seeds to grow, for much cheaper than pre-potted and grown grass at pet stores. It lasts much longer to buy seeds. Your cat will go crazy over it!

What's your secret to getting them to get so big?
@Thepracticalgardener8885 ай бұрын
It all depends on the maturity of the tree. Mine is 12 year old. I don't fertilize it because it's not fussy. But deep watering helps. 😊
