insted of white night normal 7, how about the Stygian Avaritia normal level 7, bit more work, sinds tundra lvl 7 guiding lance for stiching parts, but lvl 2 deco, more purple to work with, and more raw. and dragon element to boot, for fetalis farm, for best gunlance for both normal and slapstick.

as one of the few long shelling enthusiasts, i would recommend the viper kadachi or silver rathalos GL over the zorah magdoros one. they both have higher sharpness which is the most important stat on long shelling besides the shelling level itself. attack, affinity and element barely matter since they dont apply to shell damage

I love the axe mode, I am sad that spamming ZSD is how most people see this weapon

So if you are a db user you need one dual blade for each element. Now let's say you can't do mr kulve taroth or safi jiva yet what are the best craftable dualbles of each element? Imo Water -fishsabers Ice - bergel vetra Thunder- furious ranjang or kirin Fire- smoldering kingdom Dragon- aletreon madness Raw (for element resistant monster not general use) - fatalis Obviously safi claws, kjarrs and taroth beat everything for elemental except aletreon and fatalis is the raw king so good you might as well use it against T1 and T2 element be damned

Can I heal at totems to avoid falling below 100%?

Something to remember with split element dual blades is that the 2 different elements are on seperate blades not both blades. So if you use split DBs you are essentially halfing your ailment status application vs a DB with just the one element because dual blades swing both blades with every attack input. So if you have 2 different elements instead of two procs of one element you get two seperate procs of seperate elements. For this reason split dualblades need a lot of power or high element to make up for this shortcoming. So the Ales having such low ailment are meh imo, only really usable because of its high raw damage. (Really nice design though I layer them on most my Dbs in mhw) Tldr: Split element dual blades are usually meh weapons, not to say they aren't fun or cool concepts though.

Nice no nonsense list, good stuff mate. My favourite greatsword in the series is the Garuga Engetsu from Mh4u, it's such a nice looking sword and had 3 slots. I hope the design makes a return one day, I was really hoping Garuga would bring it back in its Iceborne return but we didn't even get a greatsword at all... Oh well I'll just have to hope for it in gen 6, Yian Kut-ku is in mhWilds so I assume Garuga is as well or will be come Grank.

3:12 Min.: I use in the moment the Viper Tobi Sword and i love it that its have free para. And ok nice i didnt know its the only with free para in the game but the its double nice to have :3 Para is in my eyes the best status in the game because the monster didnt move then if its para and all 4 Hunters can go BRRR at it :3
