The gun laws are one of the major drawbacks of Canada. It sucks we're more likely to have more gun laws, meaning we're more likely to have police powers expanded and more people victimized by them than we are the stuff that actually decreases violent crime like universal health care or full, unionized employment.

@@FuryXDMGS Yes I know the story. "OOOOH SHINRA DISCOVERED YOU CAN USE DEAD PEOPLE AS ENERGY WHAT IF WE FOUND OUT HOW TO USE THAT LOL" Listen if Square actually confirmed that fan theory it would be only mildly less narratively psychotic than... everything involving FFX2.5. In order for the FFX = FFVII theory to be true, it would require that everyone, or at least a significant population, to hop on a ship and go to an entirely separate planet. Since the Farplane does not exist on Gaia. That would also require that every single person's biology must change since people and animals are made with Pyreflies on Spira while Pyreflies do not exist on Gaia. Speaking of Gaia there's no such thing as a Lifestream on Spira nor is Spira depicted as having a will of its own as Gaia does. Also this would mean that when these Spiraians got to Gaia it would require that everyone destroy their own technology and live out their lives as a nomadic race the way the Cetra are spoken of in legend. Which is completely ridiculous as a concept. Unless Spira is the future and FF7 is the past but that still would make the 2 incompatible since you'd have to explain why the afterlife works completely different in the 2 settings.

I live in Minnesota and haven't had to deal with much upselling, yea they ask the typical "Do you have our card?" or "Would you like to add this?" but as soon as you say no, they drop it and move on because they really don't give a shit. When i worked at pizza hut my manager only 1 time said "Hey, try to sell some of this, we accidentally made a couple we weren't supposed to" and i asked like 3 people that called if they wanted to add one and didn't bother trying to convince them and at the end of the time limit he put on us we had sold none and he just said "Alright, well, guess no one wanted any right now, no sense throwing them out, anyone want one?" and it was fucking delicious.

A former Target Canada employee here (truck unloader). The guys hit it on the head about how fucked everything was. Best story was an American manager came down during set-up for the store and was trying to push us to get used to upselling and handling the 'flow' (the shelving space for each item). He made an... interesting gesture and told us to 'roll the dice'. The gesture, of course, looked much like someone beating their meat before flinging the liquid into the listener's face. Needless to say, the next week was spent with the employees helpfully reminding each other to 'roll the dice'.

That X-2.5 book and X-3 story they did was the absolute worst. Character assassination and lore-/world-/story-/everything-rape of the worst calibre. Fuck everyone that was involved in the making and release of that. It's worse than MGS4, PW and V combined. It's just awful.
@SteelBallRun18907 жыл бұрын
Vagrant woah woah woah back the fuck up. I know those MGS games you listed were a bit jarring in the storytelling department, even for MGS, but they were not bad stories. I mean sure MGSV we can argue it was poor at telling the story it wanted but the message was there, MGS4 and PW had fine stories.

As someone enslav- er, Employed at Target, I can say that the only thing Target fucking cares about is selling those fucking Credit cards. The team leads constantly remind us to sell them (every 10 minutes) and getting pulled in the office if we don't sell enough of them daily isn't uncommon. It drives me fucking crazy.
I think they stole this plot-line from a 15 year old FFX HD fanfiction writer.

the difference seems to be the competitive attitude. it seems to me, and correct me if i'm wrong, that in the states, they don't give a shit what the customer thinks. it's a competition between the people selling on the floor, it's not about the person buying it beyond what tactics work best against what types of people. whereas, here in canada, that attitude simply isn't present. i'm not saying they aren't competitive or that they care about the customers, it's just that the attitude of "i don't care who you are, i'mma sell you this teapot and brag to everyone in the back about how many i did today" isn't there.

Man, the FF X-2 has such a fuckin awesome themes in every secondary mission: Wakka stuggling about being a father, Kimari trying to reunite his people, FUCKIN RELIGION vs HUMANISM AND HOW THEY BOTH TEND TO SEPARATE PEOPLE MORE THAN UNITE THEM... AND THE MAIN FOCUS OF THE FUCKIN GAME IS YUNA STILL WANTING TIDUS' DICK. That relationship was AWFUL they have absolutely no chemistry at ALL, Rikku x Tidus would had been SO much better (in fact, I think that Tidus was going to initially be a secondary character while the main character would be a created one for the sake of the online mode it was going to have, and that created character would be the one that goes with Yuna), but at least it was secondary to the story, being the main focus the fight to save the world. FF X-2 is the other way around, being the end of the world secondary (SOMEHOW) and the romance the main focus. Man I love that game for what I wasn't supposed to love it... and that's why I am angry about it.
