Some good subjects to show in the videos are the Silverwood Homes on Ranchero, due to open in March 2025, the planned Apple Valley Estates, 2 parks supposed to be built there, Spring Valley Lakes, any well maintained parks and bike routes with good surfacing. Apple Valley could use a Costco and an In N Out. It does have great grocery stores like SBros, Winco, and Food4Less. SunCity is nice but no parking. Silverwood Holms is supposed to have lots of outdoor amenities. The BrightLine train is supposed to be cutting edge technology for commuting. Apple Valley needs more greenery and water infrastructure. Other than that, the place grows on you little by little.

You forgot the crime rate. A bunch of L.A. rejects. I sold my place in 2020 and don't miss it at all. Hot, cold or windy. It used to be good but I feel the bad element of people ruined it the most.

I was overrun with rabbits had at least 15 of them. Had to buy a lot of chicken-wire to protect my plants from them. That worked for me. Looked out the window one morning and I saw my red tailed hawk chowing down on one, one down 14 to go. Didn't get rid of all the rabbits till I got two dogs and they unassed the area.

I applaud your Optimism. However, things NOT mentioned. Trash, Un- Sightly / Un-Kept Properties and Houses, Chronic Barking Dogs, Loud Music from Homes and Cars with NO Respect for Neighbors and you aren't 'Cool' unless you have a Noisy Muffler. Makes me Sad. The Desert has a very special Beauty that's in decline.

76year old woman here. I've lived in the High Desert for almost 15 years surrounded by Joshua Trees, cactus, and boulders, and all the things you mentioned. I feel I was given paradise to spend my remaining years. The past year my homeowners insurance has made my mortgage impossible to maintain so I had to put the house up for sale 😢, now I will be moving to my daughters in San Diego on the beach. What a deal you might be saying......I will miss the absolute silence of the desert, the unique smell and thrill of rain when it finally comes, the ravens flying over my property to say hi to me and my dogs, and the glory of the stars at night!! I will miss looking at the boulders and thinking of the people who were here before me.

@@CherylHarper-o4b thank you for commenting 😊 15 years is a long time I’ve been here since 1984, this place has so much beauty to it. I know there are cons to it as well but the pros outweigh all of it. Homeowners insurance has gone up this year. Unfortunately, we aren’t the only ones dealing with us. This is a statewide, and even other states are dealing with it as well. I think it has to do with all the fires here and flooding from the hurricanes and such. Our homeowners insurance went up as well. People that are on fixed income. It is just impossible. So they have to move in with family like you. I’m glad you will be somewhere nice as well. San Diego is beautiful and on the beach even better. My daughter is stationed in San Diego . I go down there quite often. Such a beautiful city as well. I wish you the best of luck and I’m sure the Desert will miss you too. 💛

This video is meaningful and well-thought out. I could not agree more when it comes to abandoning animals - there REALLY IS a special place in hell for people who mistreat and/or abandon animals. Your description of what dogs go through when they are abandoned is important for us humans to understand and internalize. Thank you so much!

@@dw8555 thank you for commenting. I will never understand how someone can treat animals that way. It makes me think they probably treat people just the same. I pray for change. Meanwhile back at the strip mall,....some dude is feeling like a "real" dad by buying his kid a puppy..Couple years later, that dog food expense is eating into his ability to buy drinks at the local watering hole. Also eating into the payments for his Dodge Scatpac Hemi, which impressed his buddies [for a while]. So now that the kids don't play with the dog any more, that dog has to go. Dropping them off in the desert is how to avoid the feeling of failure,...and that you're not really a good human after all.....
