Have you tried using pieces of fish instead of live prawns? Or is the catch better with live prawns?

only live prawns bro. i even use freshly died ones but the fishes seems to go for live prawns.

i have got my own kayak but if you like to try kayak fishing, pls check with friendly Mr Noordin from Fishon.sg. He organise guided fishing tours. Its recommended if you are new to kayak fishing to have a good guide. Fishing near kelongs during strong currents can be dangerous at times.

Loving the videos! Btw all Barras start out their lives as males and only change into female at around 70cm (4-5 kg). Those big ones are rare females, coming to lay eggs and breed during rainy season. Thank you for releasing the small ones, but also consider releasing some of the big females for them to breed 😄

I used both Apollo rigs and round weights with single hook or double hook. Baits are live prawns which you can buy from a kelong near SmithMarine kelong. If fishes not keen on live prawns ill switch to metal jigs esp on hot Sunny days as Ubin waters are murky. I prefer to use metal jigs 30gm from 11am onwards

you can rent kayaks from Fishon.sg Mr Noordin hes a friendly guide if you wanna try out for first time. So far our group only play around Ubin as our yak are parked at Ohana.

Look up Carousell for secondhand Hobie kayak or Nauticadventure Alton for brand new kayak. Im using Hobie Compass and Passport 10.5. Important to check the weight for kayak. Ideally in my opinion, our weight divide by 3. The hauling from beach is a killer end of every trip.

if you are thinking of getting a 2nd hand kayak, i recommend Hobie. China made ones are slow and the chains easily breaks. Hobie Passport 10 is the one im using .Upgraded with Turbo fins. Compass 12ft is my wifes kayak.

Live prawns sold at a fishfarm near the Smith Ocean fishfarm Restaurant or Changi Village fish shops or Pasir Ris Fishing ponds.
