My parents traveled with my sister and all through our childhood and they always talked about how it helped us not to be picky eaters like you mentioned! I really identify with what you said about cultivating curiosity in your kids personality - I think it helped make my sister and I curious in schools and world travelers later in life. This is very helpful info--and not that easy to come by! I've always traveled domestically with my kid, who is 12 now, but never internationally with him yet. He's also going through a tough phase right now, so he's less into hanging out with me and mostly just wants to game with his friends. He's also a picky eater. I want to take him somewhere cool, but I'm not sure where the best spots would be. I would have never thought of places like Peru or even a dude ranch, so your video really provided some great tips!
