Freedom yes equity no. One of Jeffersons famous quote mind you he was a libertarians i believe to day we call it classical libertarian which is oddly close to modern conservatives, if they rioted and caused revolution. Jeffersons said, I can think of no on justice more evil than treating two men equally who are not.

You have forgotten that Brazil had three times as many slaves as the south. Slavery there essentially disappeared during the triple alliance war, as being slaves were recruited into the Brazilian army. Although slavery was not completely bothered till later, in practice, the institution was dead by the early 1870s. If we had been able to avoid a civil war is most probable that slavery would have gradually disappeared. Economically, it made more sense to use people as a sharecroppers instead of slave. It is a common mess that slavery required a war to be resolved. Economic pressures would have led to the end of slavery probably only a few years after we suffered the Civil War.

The institution of slavery was a horrible and evil practice. The efforts to preserve the right to dehumanize other human beings based on a false sense of superiority and financial gains are the cornerstones of what founded America. My extensive research as a historian has allowed me to conclude that preservation of slavery in America started with the Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War... Sadly Americans have been deceived and taught that the separation from Britain was about "taxation without representation"... History has revealed that the conflict was largely about the colonial planter elite keeping the institution of slavery in place. Facts.

"A nation born out of a desire to preserve slavery,". So massive tariffs which were horribly economically discrimitory towards the South was not a reason? The blatant disregard for the US Constitution by the Federal Government was not reason for the Civil War? The fact that of the 36 states the 11 Southern states paying over 85% of all government revenue in 1860 was not a reason for the Civil War? Hmmmmmm Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina and Arkansas all voted to STAY in the Union initially although this massively increased the chance of them losing the institution of slavery. Oh yeah, none of those things mattered because hey, it was a nation born only of a "desire to preserve slavery. " 😂😂😂😂😂

The tariffs were on imported manufactured goods from England in order to promote manufacturing and industry in the USA. The problem is, instead of creating industry and technology, the South only cared about slavery and thus the tariff hit the hardest because they had no manufacturing. And because they had no manufacturing they had to import all their manufactured goods from the rest of the world. All they had were raw materials mainly cotton. Who cares about the federal government trampling the states when they were literally trampling the rights of millions of people for profit off the cotton trade. I shouldn't even have to tell you this but you freaking hicks keep getting online instead of reading history books

Have you read the statements of seceding states? They say they are fighting for slavery. Straight from the horses mouth. And the tariffs you’re talkin about were most likely the ones that passed AFTER secession, where the south gave up their claim to vote against them

And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.”-------Abraham Lincoln Fourth Lincoln - Douglas Debate Sept. 18, 1858

"Slavery was the pretext of the war, not the cause of the war!" Gen William Tecumseh Sherman. If the South had wanted slavery, all that they had to do was to remain in the Union where slavery was legal. The Union even went so far as to offer the South slavery in perpetually if only they would rejoin the Union and pay taxes. The South paid 70% of the taxes, and very little was returned. There is your cause of the war, taxes not slavery... Remember, Lincoln allowed W Virginia to enter the union as a slave state. But they were fighting to free the slave's??? Get a grip!!!

@@TerryDesee-d1q The South knew that when the western states were admitted within the next 20 years as free states that the Senate would be lost by them and that slavery would have been outlawed. Further despite the proposal of the amendment to guarantee slavery,, not enough northern states would have ratified it. The South wanted a government that was not just tolerant of slavery but activity embraced it. They got that , but only for four years before being extinguished to history

The issue of slavery, in particular its possible spread to new states created from the territory gained from Mexico, was one of the primary causes of the Civil War, along with States' Rights and Tariffs. There was no offer of money or anything else by the Federal government to the seceding states to remain in the Union, which is a long-perpetuated myth. The war began to preserve the Union, not abolish slavery. The Emancipation Proclamation was issued as a war measure to hamper the use of slaves to support the Confederate war effort, and to deter the British and French from entering the war to aid the Confederacy. It didn't free any slaves in areas under control of the Union, only in the areas under control of the Confederacy. That's why Lincoln pressed so hard to get the 13th Amendment passed by Congress before the end of the war.

Exactly what are you trying to say with your post? The District of Columbia was established on July 16, 1790, not 1871 as you suggest. It was created because it was felt at the time that the Federal Capital should not be housed in any single state, but to stand alone on its own territory. Philadelphia did serve as the capital of the United States, but that assignment changed on December 1, 1800 when the seat of government moved to Washington, DC.

Jensen's proposal there was created and brought to attention by the klu Klux Klan Democratic party that created the ku Klux Klan you look in history it literally says it. I need the 14th amendment was not good in any way shape or form like people think it was the 13th amendment was giving them the right to vote right so therefore they can vote therefore they had to say just like any other American because they're Americans natural citizenship just like any other American before the 14th amendment even happened. the 14th amendment is an abomination to our freedom. taking our natural birthright from us and labeling us as national born citizenship status. do you know what the definition of a national born citizen is? a person born property of the government. that means everyone born here if you believe the 14th amendment is legit was born a slave! nothing more than property of the government. taking everything we owned and handing it over to them and we owe nothing those houses you buy you wonder why you pay property tax for your property to some other entity because it's not your property.after the civil war they created the 13th amendment and they were given natural citizenship status. amongst many other reparations. the 14th amendment they came in in literally enslaved us all. a person that was a slave what's property of that slave owner. if that property of the slave owner got pregnant and had a child. that child would be a person born property of the slave owner. lesbian Born into slavery. so you tell me what's the difference between a person being born property of the slave owner to a person being born property of the government. I didn't tell me again how the 14th amendment so Grand my fellow slaves of America! Jesus people need to grow brain!
