This film is mesmerising. Both uplifting & macabre. I was lucky enough to catch whole film at Exeter Museum RAMM. There is real magic in science & tech, so Art that works with this can be truly inspirational. I also love the idea that, as long as you overlook the inevitable cold, lonely & violent death, this vehicle does for just a few ££ something that would cost NASA many, many millions and would be surrounded by massive infrastructure. I love this so much. Not only did you create a powerful piece of Art, you actually DID build a Spaceship! (It's worth remembering that even in a NASA U2, you would actually die without the right suit on).

For anyone watching this now, you should know that Toshiba did in fact credit the original artist for this idea and, in fact, officially described their ad as a "remake" of his work. The top comment on this article is only so popular because people love to hate on big business even when there is no good reason for it.

Imagine someone sitting on it going up... He would be screaming, trying to hold on, and twirling at a fast speed..lol.. for safety measures.. place Chuck Norris on it.. It will save you money because Chuck Norris doesn't need a spacesuit. Heck, Chuck Norris doesn't even need a chair, or a balloon.

Hello! I thought the poor compared to that toshiba made this video because the camera they used recorded and then retrieved images, while here was used to capture live transmitter (which is much more difficult) Congratulations!

@hachiman either that or you hear on news that a random person was killed by a chair leg falling from the sky. Like is that not a stupid idea?? a freaking chair?? I do hope these people know that 'what goes up, must come down'. Be pretty trippy though if a chair came crashing through the roof!

The only way they would know where it was found is it would have Tracking Device and the people would have a Radar knowing where it is.

just a guess, but the temperatures up there may have made the plastic components of the chair brittle enough that the tumble on the way down stressed it to the point of failure.

this vid is nothing compared to toshiba..and does every artist who takes picks of a mountain or does a song that sounds like a million others give someone else credit????no they dont ..quit ur crying and get over it..if i make a succesfull poem and it sales i guess i should give credit to whoever wrote the first poem.. paints are made everyday of the same thing and no one questions who painted it first...
