I have been trying to take this reemerging discipline to the next level by observing the correlation of my thoughts and the birds actions. Method - sitting quiet for while about 10 meters away from my bird bath in the morning and taking note of what happens when I decide to top the bird bath up. I hear the same reassuring sound that I keep hearing whenever I am outside doing something positive for nature.

I realize this is an old video, but my cat had to become an indoor cat, living in a city building. To make friends, she would sit on my wide window sill & try to make friends with 1 Turtle Dove, trying to mimic his sound. (A few times she would chase them, but this was different.) It made me a bit sad when he paid no attention to her, but they just sat there together, she on the inside & the dove on the outside. I have a nice photo of them.😊

I loved this! I watch birds from my 3rd-floor sill for long periods of time & can see the Cardinals engaging in a pre-mating ritual! They’re so beautiful, along with the many other New England birds. Thank you! I love this little series! How I wish we were neighbors.

I think we should start and deal much about our nations. As humans later all these won't matter.

I was wondering how to prevent my cat from attacking birds. The other day, she attacked a bird and when I heard the birds screaming, I opened the door and there was my cat with a bird in its mouth. There were several medium-sized birds, as well as, a few larger black crows watching my cat and they were all chatting with each other. I live in Lake County, CA with a huge and diverse population of bird species which poses a threatening temptation for my cat. Oh, and by the way, this is Danielle Santopietro from Holmdel. If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Lake County, we would love for you to visit and perhaps, speak with our cat directly. 😉

I have aways noticed/heard/love birds. and I didn't notice before that when a hawk come, I get so enraptured in what the hawk is doing that all the other noises have disappeared. i couldn't hear because my eyes were watching so hard. i can't wait to pay attention to everything else next time. thank you for all that you have done. You are definately on my top list of people I could ever hope to have the honor of crossing paths with.. much respect. Blue Heron are what really get my heart pounding. but hawks eagles turkeys all others i love too.

It’s amazing! When I’m hiking the birds know me now in the same parks and forests I visit because they all sing around me and fly around me letting me know what’s around a car or human and it’s absolutely magical! This is real and nature is very reciprocal!! I always keep nuts and dried insects with me and do a food call and arrange the food in a fancy way and the birds love it so much I can feel it. When there’s a hawk or eagle or a person, it gets so quiet and I know there is something before I even see it. The crows and ravens are the only big birds that are nice to the small birds and they play together a lot I love watching it. People don’t realize this world around us

I thought myself the green language...by listening to their morning quarrels over who eats first, or which animal, object or person if on their way...eventually I picked up on their language was able to communicate with them...

Is there a link to the actual bird alert for a cat? I was hoping this would give me more info.

Yes. It’s called a parabolic. These are excerpts from a full instructional video. You can find it at BirdLanguage.com or villagevideo.org/birdlanguage

The students have been immersed in bird language studies, some of them for 4 yrs. As they were moving in the dawn song was beginning. The result was minor "hooking" and a quick re-establishment of base line behavior even though there were eight folks sitting in the area. I came w/ a dog an hr later to demo what effect that would have. Folks along the swamp noticed an alarm sequence behind them as well as in front. The alarm I was creating alerted the bobcat in the swamp, pushing it to move.
