So Prophet Youssef(as) brothers threw him in the well for attention.his brothers thought that his father didn’t love them,they thought their father only loved prophet Youssef(as). so they took the prophet and took him to the well and dumped in their, living him alone.shaytan was whispering to the prophets brothers ear subhanalah.prophet Youssef was so young.hope this helped.
