Can you share where you got ur marble tokens green and grey to mark your cards? Great videos! I was so nervous to even start #3. I subbed 😊

Sneak attack would recall Beorn to your hand, assuming that's what you wanted. If there are ever effects that trigger simultaneously (for example, both happen at the end of the phase) then the first player chooses which effect to trigger first.
@wolfgame_tutorials Жыл бұрын
That would have been helpful. I couldn’t remember for certain during the play through so opted for the less forgiving alternative on any rules questions to be sure I wasn’t giving myself an easy win. I typically do that when playing, but even more so when on the camera when it’s harder to pause to look up a rule. 😂
@Primus_prime_time Жыл бұрын
Bit late to reply, however, the rules state that, in this type of situation, players should always choose what's worse for them, in this case, throw Beorn back into the deck.... I think.

Hi, do the sleeved cards fit back into the default insert found in 2nd edition box?
@wolfgame_tutorials Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I couldn’t say. I didn’t like how the minis fit into the insert so I tossed it before I sleeved the game. I have another video showing my DIY organization for the game. I just used two of the “Ozark Trail Medium Swirl Tray Fishing Tackle Box 3600” from Walmart (one for each player’s minis, dice, tokens, etc.). What I can say is the sleeved cards fit into the box nicely with that solution.

@wolfgame_tutorials2 жыл бұрын
@@connorwright26 both awesome games. I’ve had both but ultimately just kept this one. I’m a huge Tolkien fan, though, and a casual marvel fan, so theme was a big part of it. Pick your poison I guess 😂 Ultimately any time I played Marvel I felt I’d have preferred the trip to Middle Earth instead. LOTR feels like thematic questing to me, which I love solo and multiplayer, and Marvel feels like a big boss battle, which is better multiplayer imo. Deck construction is also much lighter in Marvel, whether that’s a pro or con depends on your preference.

This was so awesome to see! Congrats on defeating Dol Guldor SOLO! I'm a relatively new player and have been trying to beat it two-handed with only the revised Core set but no luck yet. I'm beginning to consider taking it on with one deck because pulling that extra card each round is just BRUTAL. This is the one quest I debate if having the extra deck really outweighs pulling the extra encounter card. I've always been a little confused with Son of Arnor. Do you have to trigger it's engagement ability if possible? Do you have to proceed to combat after the engagement (I notice you didn't in the video)?
@wolfgame_tutorials2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yeah, I’ve played two handed occasionally, but usually feel it’s less overwhelming and more enjoyable for me playing a single deck. Was very happy to find a solo deck that worked for this. And you never have to trigger an ability unless it has the keyword “Forced”, but if you trigger the ability you have to trigger all parts of it as written if possible. Son of Arnor doesn’t mean to skip straight to combat, though, he just has you pull an enemy from the staging area or from being engaged with another player to engage with your heroes. This lets you pull the enemy’s threat out of the staging area before questing, and then combat happens at the normal time during the round.
@ImposterOaksRevenge2 жыл бұрын
@@wolfgame_tutorials Makes sense. I've always been hesitant to play Some of Arnor because I thought it forced engagement (and subsequent combat) which I was almost never prepared for. But this makes the card much more useful.

@Esco_Vertex2 жыл бұрын
Yh i'm not understanding the location part properly
@wolfgame_tutorials2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! If you mean 35:56 - the location, once traveled to on a previous turn must be explored before progressing through the quest. Essentially it takes the place of the quest until it’s completed. In this instance, Eowyn was questing with 4 willpower, and there is a new location revealed in the staging area with 2 threat. This allowed me to put the difference of 2 progress on the active location. I then discarded a card as instructed on Eowyn’s card ability to add one more progress and satisfy the location’s requirement of 3 progress so I could discard it.

I have struggled with this scenario on solo play, too. Disappointed to see that even with really lucky card draw it didn't turn out good :( Here are some errors that I noticed: 24:52 Blade of Gondolin only adds +1 attack agains orcs, does not apply to the Hill Troll. Same error multiple times again later. 36:45 Horn of Gondor wasn't used to add resources, again later when Gandalf leaves play etc. 45:00: Dol Guldur Orcs "when revealed" was ignored completely, again twice at 47:20

I haven’t used them. I would guess/hope they fit similarly well to these, and are probably a little thicker. I personally would not want to store my cards separate from the rest of the game, though, and those collectors card boxes wouldn’t fit in with my storage solution, so these sleeve kings work better for me at 1/10th the price.

RULES CORRECTION: After a card with the “Guarded” keyword is cleared but unclaimed in the staging area, you do not attach additional encounter cards to it as they are revealed. I made things harder on myself by doing this a few times in this video, for example at 14:40 and 39:07 - They should just remain in the staging area unattached until you choose to claim them (or until another card effect shuffles them into the deck).
@amcieks2 жыл бұрын
Beating Dol Guldur true solo with making things unnecessarily harder for yourself is an achievement! I believe you also didn’t have to put the Orc Guard at 36:10 as you have just resolved a quest, and those guys enter at the beginning of quest phase.

@@wolfgame_tutorials two days ago I started playing the game, I was attacking strong (all) creatures with only one character at a time not ignoring the defense attacking with the ones after the first... On another subject Is it legal to ignore defense with ranged attacks(yew bow)?
@wolfgame_tutorials Жыл бұрын
@@X02switchblades yeah, I remember doing the same my first few games, not realizing attacking with multiple characters at once you only count the enemy’s defense once. You can also only attack each enemy once per round. Regarding ranged attacks - they allow you to attack an enemy engaged with another player, but otherwise all other rules of combat are the same. Some cards, such as Gandalf, will have an ability that says “deal X damage” - and means you can deal that amount of direct damage, ignoring the enemy’s defense.
