I watched the video for "Love the Way You Lie" when it first came out. I told a child exactly what it meant. She asked me because she had already seen the video before I did. She asked why he would say he loves her and then say he's going to kill her. Why would she love the way he lies? I told it's because he was a bad person and she shouldn't go back with him. You shouldn't believe what he says because he's lying. I'm glad she saw the video and I'm glad I answered the way I did.

Almost every woman I know, except for a couple, have been abused by their partner. Many have had two or more partners that emotionally and physically abused them. Many men think they are entitled to it. Teaching women to know what love actually looks like, and, it does not look like an Eminem song, will matter. Men who mistreat women aren't relationship material. Also the myths, wow! A lot of myths, like, "...women aggravate the man". She "talks back". Imagine, an adult woman talking back. That must warrant abusing her, right? It's like, people are kidding themselves. The TRUTH is that men who abuse women do it REGARDLESS OF WHAT SHE SAID OR DID. She doesn't have to do anything to upset him. Abuse is about control, not defense of oneself. Yes men are abused, but still by far and away, it is men abusing women, hands down.
