Nice overview of LS! Sometimes things are popular for good reason and there are many good reasons for LS being so popular….one of my favorite main camps.

Cool to see how you’re profiling all the camps - love the mug and bean at Lower Sabie (best restaurant in the park I think!).

As an overseas visitor it saddens me when you say, there are more local and fewer international visitors which makes for a quiet atmosphere. Does the international vistors make more noise?
@Carolina_in_the_wild6 күн бұрын
I am actually not a local myself. I didn't mean that foreign tourists are unpleasant, they just tend to travel a little differently in Kruger. The locals are generally just very quiet, sleep at 9 pm and are awake early in the morning, but are always super considerate. International tourists sometimes party a little longer in the evening (which is understandable when you are on holiday). There are camps where the atmosphere is more suited to this, e.g. Lower Sabie rest camp. It should not be judgemental, but simply informative, so that you can decide for yourself what you prefer. :)
@ssvilhelmsen67956 күн бұрын
@@Carolina_in_the_wild I strongly disagree with you that foreign tourists make more noise and party more than the locals, and travel differently. I don't know where you camped. But in the camps we go to 1 or 2 times a year, I have never experienced what you say. But I certainly don't like the claim you make in your video. I don't think you can shame all foreign tourists that way.

Thank you! Yes, I also love the area around Berg-en-Dal. This year, we got very lucky and saw lots of rhinos and leopards (literally two leopards every single day).

Why does most youtubers use music in a nature wild video like we want to hear the nature music not man made music lol throw that out. lol
@Carolina_in_the_wild6 күн бұрын
Because unfortunately, you don't hear any natural sounds in most of the videos, only running engines, because many people don't switch off their cars. It's sad, but true.

Skukuza is not the best camp at all, very busy, noisy, full of tourist operators, game viewer vehicle chasing from one sighting to another, selfishly blocking roads, etc. It is a town in a game reserve, and not the true nature of Kruger. From Satara to the north is the way to go. Unfortunately the lady's fast mumble spoils everything. Every tourist who spends a few days in the Kruger now suddenly becomes an exert.

Great review of what folks can expect cost wise in Kruger! As a regular international visitor to Southern Africa with many of those trips to Kruger I can definitely that Kruger is the best value for money wildlife trip in all of Africa…maybe all of the world….hands down. The sheer numbers, variety and quality of sightings at a price that simply cannot be beaten is almost too good to be true. Thanks for posting this and helping to spread the word about this magical place 👍👍

Very enjoyable and informative, have been following your videos. Can i just add that my wife and I did a similar 3 week self drive safari in May 24 and had a wonderful time, which we intend to do again. Highly recommended. For others information our costs flying from UK with car hire etc were approximately £1000 each per person per week, so best value for money safari available. Also for interest to show what can be seen I put a video on KZbin. 12 lions in kruger national park.

Based on my personal experience, the daily cost of camping, food, and fuel typically averages around R1000 when camping in the park, though this can vary depending on various factors. For me, it's still the most affordable way to experience paradise.

What a great video of this really underrated park and huge congrats on your first black rhino 👍👍. Your footage of him was superb as was your whole video. Karoo has a special place in our hearts because it’s the first national park (other than Table Mountain) we ever visited in South Africa way back in 2010 and like you we saw our very first black rhino there. That first trip is what lit the spark for us that turned into flame when we visited Kruger on our next trip in 2013. Seven trips later and we’re now Kruger addicts all because of that first tip to the Karoo.
