Just FYI you don't need to buy those pre-packeaged spools, it's a lot cheaper and simple to replace the line manually.

I use it to clean gutter and work benches. light, easy, strong. The bigger one just blows dust everywhere. This one you can pile saw dust into one area.

Ah, now I know the difference. I bought the one with motor in the back. Pretty happy with it so far, though the 4amp battery only lasts around 20 minutes max. I paid $279 vs $299 for the whisper. I reckon that unit might be too heavy at the front for my liking..
@NedstooltalkАй бұрын
It will be 100% different to standard trimmer, the one with motor in the head is top heavy and a bit hard to adjust to, but much more quiet compared to standard trimmers.

I was wondering while seeing you handling this chainsaw if i was going to see some kind of terrible accident...I get so nervous the battery is on still touching things like the chain etc....
@John-cj3ve9 күн бұрын
I saw the same thing you did; but didn't think anything of it. I do it all the time with all of my saws. Some people just need something to worry about. Please don't take offense. There are a lot of people who think the same way you do.

Hi Ned. Great video and review. I am tossing up with this 18v chainsaw and the 36V. Drill and leaf blower is 18v. Recently got the 36v mower also. Thinking about the uses. Which is very minimal. Should i just get the 18v chainsaw (skin) along with a bigger AH batter. Ie 9ah
@NedstooltalkАй бұрын
If you dont use it much 36v is probably to much, maybe that exact model i have is best choice with either 6ah or higher battery....dont have to buy larger then 6ah unless you need to use it for a longer period of time
@matmai91Ай бұрын
@Nedstooltalk thanks for the reply Ned. Looking up batteries. I'm wondering if I should get 1 9AH battery or 2 5AH battery, price point quite similar. Have you had any experience with the RYOBI high performance batteries ?

I went and looked at the Ryobi carbon fibre shaft whisper series in 36v. R36XLTR26 It was so heavy and unbalanced. Ended up with a makita 36v DUR368LPT2 Was just more balanced and had everything I needed. Happy so far. Also came in a kit with two battery’s 5.0a and a rebate for two more batteries or blower.
@NedstooltalkАй бұрын
I have not tried it yet, but i find hard to justify $600 for a trimmer with a battery....lawn mowers cost $100 more....and its much bigger and complex product

thanks for taking the time to share this with us and i totally agree with your conclusion. i had a dyson v7 motorhead which just died one year after warranty expired. the battery would run out at 20 minutes and it didnt pick a lot of stuff up. i just bought the cheapest ryobi stik and its better in loads of respects - just as you discuss in this .

Another great vid, thank you! I just bought one of these a week ago, I didn't buy the set as it was a little strange looking and was concerned it wouldn't be any good but it was the only brand that had the size I needed. I used it to make a hole for a cable pass through on newly installed desk. I now wish I bought the set, it is fantastic to use.

The light tray is amazing value for $30. Not sure it would be worth it for anyone at the old price of $80. The multi charger would be nice if you had a lot of tools, unfortunately there is not much range for these tools yet in Australia, the US has many more options.
@Tom--Ace2 ай бұрын
I really like that charger, I got one as well! I also got the 8NM ryobi ratchet - and wow, I love that thing! It's perfect for small fasteners all over the car and anywhere else, and 8NM is still plenty of power for those (even too much for plastic and other smaller fasteners). For big fasteners, my bigger ryobi ratchets are great but whoever said this thing didnt have enough power is very much wrong.
