At first I thought Joel Hoekstra was the magic ax guy, but it’s Doug Aldrich, who is also formerly of Whitesnake, from 2003 to 2014. Hoekstra joined in 2014 and is still in the band, juggling that gig with his role in the annual Trans-Siberian Orchestra holiday concerts. Wish I’d been there for this set!
