With that amount of people so close together I can see why they wear hi-viz in the rest of Europe and US.

@@McCloggie thanks for watching. In all our walked up days and trials everyone walks in a line so we know where everyone is . The gallery with spare dogs and onlookers is always in a set position so all guns know where they are on every different bit of ground. It’s not just folks walking around aimlessly😂 We do a lot of days like this and never have a problem.

Totally agree, I'm in south Wales, but the couple of hours either side of midnight have always been most productive. I fish lure and fly, not sure I have a favourite, love them both. But you need to be on top of your fly cast in the dark.

Really enjoying your vids, great gillie there in Phil, he'll go to the end of the world to get you a fish. 2 small tips that may help. 1. You saw a salmon at your rod tip, but then put out nearly a full line, cast short at first and work out a yard at a time. 2. On your d-loop stroke accelerate to a stop and then pause to let the loop form, you're starting slow and same speed throughout, accelerating whilst lifting the rod and not cutting the corner will give you a bigger d-loop, which will load the rod much better. Tight lines fella 👍

Nice watch. Brought back a lot of happy memories for me from my youth (live in Australia now) We fished the Tweed at Melrose when we were in our teens, gorgeous water, the whole area around Melrose and Peebles is lovely. Weather wasn't great from memory so we holed up under some big overhanging trees (weren't wading) we didn't catch much. Trout, some eels and big roach !! Yeh - big roach. Not in the fast running water but in the slow deep water along the edges. We were back in the UK a few years ago pre covid, and spent some time at Peebles, not fishing though - river still looked lovely. Tight lines Doug (from Down Under)

Always amazes me how few fish are moving about on these legendary scottish rivers. Youd see more jumping on the Yorkshire Ouse/ure in spring.
@WoodlandFieldandShore4 ай бұрын
To be fair pal a lot of the time fresh fish don’t ump as much as fish that have been in the river a while . I’ve been on the Dee in September and there fish jumping everywhere but hooking them is a different thing 😂 Thanks for watching .

Fresh ones show on my river esp after April. Sometimes see em boshing their way up the tidal. And higher up when temporarily settled in lies though rarely in the shallow middle river. And almost rarely in middle river in running conditions. I agree the kippers upstream bosh about on the deeper holding pools. Our run dies off in mid June so don't see many brown uns on my stretches cos I don't go kipper bash8ng lol.
