That's huge! I don't know if I ever made art just because it makes me happy. I need to ponder that, but not for long. And START making art that MAKES ME HAPPY!!!! Thank you for that!

Wow! I just found your channel today and was watching some of your stitching videos - and I just clicked on this one to see what it was about. I am so surprised!!!!! We had to put our dog to sleep on March 17th, and it's been extremely hard! I told my husband I never want another animal again, especially a dog, because having to lose him and our other dog to a snake bite a few years ago has broken me. Literally this morning, we were actually meeting a 5 year old German Shepherd that our neighbor is fostering for our county animal shelter. Our shelter has been at capacity for far too long. She is a dog trainer, boarder, doggy daycare business owner. I was doing fine and really was enjoying him, and meeting some of her other dogs that are hers personally, until we were ready to leave to talk about it. That's when I lost my emotions and just cried because in my head, our dogs were irreplaceable, and that's what I felt like I was doing. After you said you immediately went to get another dog, I feel like you were telling me through this video that it's alright to help another dog who needs a home. Guilt shouldn't even be a part of it. All of the thoughts that you were mentioning as to how having this new dog to work with and make a new schedule and learn each other's personalities was one of my worries too. And everything you're saying about yourself in this video and some of the others I've watched regarding self-esteem, mattering, writing, being the artist you're drawn to be, I feel I have found a very similar kindred spirit. I am so thankful you made this short little video because it has helped me tremendously. I think getting that 5-year old foster dog - Chase, a German Shepherd - a loving home is the right answer. Thank you!

Oh my goodness! Thank you for taking the time to share your story with me. My heart goes out to you when we lose one of our beloved fur friends. It's a heartbreak like no other. My husband and I have always done rescue dogs. The last two have been German shepherds before. That was a border collie and I really questioned whether I wanted another German Shepherd or not. There's pros and cons to both. But I never questioned whether I wanted another dog because for me that was the right choice. Here's how we look at it. There are so many dogs in need. There are so many irresponsible dog owners. As we get to know Tali better and she's only just beginning to show us her true personality, I can put together a backstory when she's calm. Calm. She's the most lovable sweet dog when she gets the Zumiez and you try to stop her, she's rabbit kicking nipping jumping up on you doing all the things. It tells me nobody ever took the time to teach her any manners and she's over 2 years old. If I multiply that across all the shelters across the United States across the world, there's so many dogs that want to be loved that just want to be told what are the rules in this house. You already know that the love from a dog heart to your heart is an unbelievable gift. It sounds to me like any dog that gets to call your dog home will have won the doggy lottery. Please check back and let me know what you decided and how things go. And remember one dog doesn't replace another dog. I like to think that Zoe sent tally to us because she remembered how difficult she was when we first brought her home and she knew that tally needed somebody like us that was ready to take on a ding dong dog. And I say that with much love in my heart.

Those pieces are great and useful, I never would have thought about making them separate like that, reminds me of hair extensions almost.

It’s nice to have a stash to pull from. I always want to use a lot of this sort of thing in a piece and get frustrated if I don’t have any on hand.

Stunning results! And what great news that you can freeze the leaves! When you're cooking your papers. does the water in the pan cover all the papers? Can't wait to try this but am healing (slowly) from a badly broken ankle and, despite almost 5 months into the process, it will likely be another 4-5 months before I can walk on even a slightly uneven surface. I need to find a leaf gatherer!
