was this a highly thought out production tinged with the vulnerability of being seen As You Are, or an hour and 11 minute excuse to become a gpose idle IRL? the answer is yes, btw.

20:18 I'm sorry, but have you seen the fangame scene for Mario games? Even for Mario 64 alone there are a bunch of mods that took years of development and push the hardware to its limits.

I've been dealing with grief a lot, lately. It was only natural that a game I play regularly paved the way to exactly this, to someone out there experiencing, living and rising from grief, not denying, but facing it head on. This was a breath of fresh air, a reminder and a beautiful time I got to spend with (though indirectly) someone going through and navigating the same waters. Thank you.

Seeing your point about wanting drama and stakes as a child clarifies to me why in 2015 and today, Undertale/Deltarune are such big hits with children and have a stronger presence. It's not just the accesibility of indie prices but that it and similar really recreates the feeling gamee lile SPM did in our childhood. Not surprising given there is clear SPM influence in Undertale, and that is def confirmed to have influenced Endwalker 😅

I feel like "Living in the past is no life at all. You're already dead." is one of the most succinct descriptions of Emet-Selch I've ever heard, and it's something that reminded me that for the longest time I was in a position of being stuck on my grief in the past for a significant portion of my life myself because suddenly losing one of your few friends when your age is still in the single digits is something that never truly leaves you, even now 15 years after I've been getting better at coming to terms as the years have gone on, even with how much it still stings all these years later

Super Paper Mario was my very first Paper Mario game, as well as one of my very first and very favorite games. I didn't get around to completing it until around the age of 13, mostly because young me was both a dumbass and a scaredy bitch, especially around Chapter 2 and that whole chase sequence with Mimi. But, honestly, thank god I did complete it around that time. I was able to comprehend the amazing story at that age, and how emotional of an impact it left on Paper Mario fans. I'm grateful Intelligent Systems went all out with this title before the downfall that was Sticker Star. This game had heart in every way possible, and I've constantly revisited it now at the age of 18. I'm glad there's more fans like me in the world who agrees that this game is far greater than it's credited as.

I usually scoff at long videos, But this one has been itching me to watch for a bit and I finally caved in since I have time. What a damn good video this was. Shadowbringers was one of those expansions that I was so hyped for and for the rare occasion blew my expectations out of the park, I really want a Shadowbringers poster alongside a physical PC Deluxe edition to add as decorative to show my absolute LOVE for this game. It's been about over a year since I beat Shadowbringers for the first time being Spoiler Free (Though I have listened to To the Edge and Who Brings Shadow ). This video was amazing, and something I'm recommending my other friends and loved ones to watch. Though, My only thing that I wished was brought up was Elidibus as I do think some aspects of his character and what Emet Selch does is very interesting to bring up, Though I'm more than satisfied with what this video has to offer. I also fucking love the cosplay and the ending shot, It's so fitting.

Wonderfully written and made. I will not deny that the grief in Shadowbringers hit me, I know few beyond those incapable of feeling most emotions who are not affected by it. But myself do not take to sitting on grief, it happened, it left me with scars, but it made me focus on what my grief had mostly turned me to: Hopelessness. So, that is likely why Endwalker as a whole hit harder for me, seeing hopelessness and despair, yet also that one can fight against it.

God this expansion lives rent free in my head, and for me came at a time where I was grieving the loss of my life plans. Everything had fallen apart, I had no idea what I was meant to do, I had failed and dropped out of uni, I was without purpose and direction, and this game helped pull me back into it. Especially after patch 5.3, it's what got me to actively take part in my life, to change things for the better, and I will forever hold that shriveled up theatre kid of a man in my heart for being part of the catalyst for letting go what could have been.

Heyo, I know I am *VERY* late to this party but this is probably relevant even now that we're at the end of the first season of Protocol. The "devil posing as a man" you mentioned had one more important artifact: a broken hand mirror. In the Archives series one of our first dedicated videos for the Fear that is The Watcher, a person sees eyes staring at them in the reflection of a hand mirror, promptly dropping and breaking it. This serves as a catalyst for all their future suffering. This is notable as the only object aside from perhaps the tape recorders that seems to have come from the original Universe, and could play a major role in the future

I've done all of the role quests in Shadowbringers and none of them hit as hard as the Healer version. The healer questline is the best at both narrative balance and lore revelations. I played through the first time as White Mage and I've done the other role quests, but I'm so glad that Giott was the visitor at my door before last push.

This is the best Super Paper Mario talk I've heard about the game (by not really talking about the game)! Problem is.. even if it has a "more engaged fanbase", how can Nintendo re-use these elements? I don't think they can (considering the Mario franchise label on it is practically unnecessary, but is what people associate it with)! The characters had their moment, arcs completed and story wrapped-up.. so in the end, while different and appreciated, it comes full circle as a Mario franchise that leaves not-much-to-play-with as a narrative. I wished they had made a new IP for it, and thought about leaving space to do more with it. The "safe" approach to development and IP-limitations is one of Nintendo's worst quirks. I like your art!

Thank you for making a really good video breaking down the good the bad and the ugly of FFXIVDT. There's too many people (mostly men) with the emotional intelligence of a broom saying "The story sucks" like a 12 year old who didn't like the new episode of their favorite cartoon.
@Anon265354 ай бұрын
Ok, I doubt this is in any way intentional, but I find that for a series that prides (heh) itself on being very pro-LGBT, TMA kinda feels like it has this undercurrent of... not right wing, but socially conservative, auth-left values. The main oppressor is embodied in a character who has a lot of pederastic vibes, police brutality is exemplified by two women in an implied lesbian relationship and ultimately Jon's revolutionary, eliminationist, almost Posadist-inspired agenda to kill the Powers and save the multiverse at the cost of himself and his immediate environment is foiled because of his relationship with Martin, which he almost certainly wouldn't have reciprocated without The Web's long-term influence on him. It's easy to read as a message about how queerness is inherently bourgeois. Yes, the love Jon and Martin share is their only source of comfort, but you're not supposed to *be* comfortable in the face of so much evil. This could be said of het relationships, of course, but in a socialist context those at least have the potential to produce new soldiers to send against the capitalist oppressor. In a world where reproduction is impossible, the dangers of these relationships are thrown into stark relief. In the face of evil, everything not solely dedicated to destruction is complicity and, true or not, this is an inherently unfriendly worldview to queer culture.

I loved shadowbringers and understood some of its themes pretty good. But did not see the whole picture that clear as day as now with this video. Later, I began to love endwalker and it overshadowed shadowbringer for a while now. But this one.. you made me appreciate this so much more and I'm kind of interested to play it anew
