Listening to this while going through a parallel revisiting/discovery of David Lynch's back catalogue, the seeming references are jumpin' out left right and centre (rational brain tells me this is probably just recency bias and not having lived directly through their ubiquity in the early 1990s, but hey). I agree with the beard guy who was critical of the money burning. And as a guitar player from a council estate I can agree that watching middle class rock stars destroying thier equipment didn't sit right with me. Especially, when you grew up dreaming about owning a strat or a lespaul only to see some prick smashing them to pieces.
