After Hastings the saxon women assembeled in Exeter. The cathedral had been started in 1050, before the orthodox-catholic schism. This evokes the passing of the saxon church so well.

I love this piece and will be singing in it as a tenor in a concert this weekend. There are many great interpretations around. I feel this version brings something different that I really like.
