"I do it before the compression because... um.. I don't know, everyone gets upset about that." 😂 If you want to put it before the compression do it! I think most people don't like it because the compression "brings up" those frequencies you took away anyways. But I think that if you want to put it before then its good:)

Such a great and informative video! If you want to take a step further, I would love to see the same video but where you show how to make the patch so that you can open the filter and capture the way the synth changes throughout the song. Jakub Dominé does a video showing how to do this on Deepmind 12 and a Vital tutorial for it would be huuuuuge Thanks again!

When you bring the filter cutoff up in the end of the video, my guess would be that the "digitalness" is due to the oscillator waveform. Try saw instead. When you heavily low pass the waveform you selected, it's gonna resemble a low passed saw anyway.

Good Jooob! Couldn't replicate it though, i was doing okay until the 2nd envelope. From there on my synth it's just sounding totally diferent :(

Anyone else getting some clicky pops after applying the filter? Even when all oscillators are off the filter keeps popping! I'm using Vital inside of Logic...

Thansk! And I actually cover this at 5:00, just take an lfo and assign it to the fine tuning of the pitch to get this effect.
