I'm watching this over two years after the upload date and while I'm watching (I paused to write this, so I'm still going through it) someone gave the video a thumb's up! What are the odds that someone else is also watching this at the same time as me, over two years after the video was uploaded?!?!

Normally I don't forget things I have already watched, but the other day I was watching Wreck-It-Ralph with my kids and I swear I have seen the whole movie at least once, but for the life of me I could not remember what happens at the end. Like Kimi said, that worked out because it made the rewatch of the movie more interesting for me.

I feel like there are lots of HJ hosts and fans that are really into trad games. I have heard mentioned such games as Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1st edition(and other editions), various version of Traveler (as mentioned), Shadowrun, DnD(as mentioned by Dave), World of Darkness games, etc. I think maybe it's what Kimi said, that the discord doesn't have a lot of active participants who are into those kinds of games, and the discord threads are forever scrolling, carrying away questions from sight before someone who wants to answer them can arrive. I think the suggestion to run a game on Game Days is a good idea, and also just posting to lfg in general. I think a lot of the mailbag questions on the advice show are still about or very applicable to trad games as well. I wouldn't be afraid to throw out questions on the discord though, like you said it's a great community so I don't think anyone is going to react badly, even if you repost the question after a day or so if you don't get a response. I did hear you mention "OSR" also which I take to mean games like Troika, The Electrum Archive, Cairn, Vaults of Vaarn, Mork Borg, etc and those kinds of games are some I would like to talk to some people about as well.

What a great campaign this was! I'm using Obsidian to write my own cheat sheets for the systems I'm learning, so that I can use them later on when returning to the system without having to read the manual again. I've already have 3 game systems and now working on Ironsworn rules for a co-op session next week.

I just re-watched the (not great) "Aeon Flux" live action movie adaptation and there were 100% killer plants in that biopunk dystopian future. Seed pods that shot darts, grass that turned into glass daggers, etc. A biopunk garden crawl would be totally do-able in a sci-fi system.

So precious, beautiful, and deep 💜 so lovely to have this starting up, can't wait for the continuation! Just a quick question, is it a concious choice to use "it" pronouns for some of the characters occasionally? I know that some do like this, so all fair if that is the case :) otherwise, a friendly reminder that mice (and snakes, etc) are also people ^^ I personally like to use "they" as a default for all animals if I don't know better what they use for themselves :) again, I can understand and respect if it's a choice, I'm just a little aware/touchy that a lot of times we in our culture default to "it" for animals who are not human ^^ thank you 💜

The horror in Aliens comes about when the marines realise that the faith they have in their superior fire-power and training makes no difference. They have a finite amiunt of ammo and effectively infinite adversaries and even killing the xenomorphs causes them burning pain and ultimately their deaths are meaningless because they have been deteayed by Wayland Utani. And that horror can definately be recreated in TTRPGs. Use mood lighting, use audio and use some kind of a death spiral mechanic

I can already tell that this is going to be AMAZING - the vibes, the depth, so resonant 💜the vibes are just giving me the chills, in the best of ways! And I'm all here for the "mouse Miyazaki", his movies are among my all-time favourite media ^^ also, when you were talking about touchstones, one that came up to me is the amazing "Kino's journey" - very mellow, post-apocalyptic, incredibly deep, and that special kind of "small-scale" but also very very important story... oh, and I would be remiss not to mention "The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents" by the late Sir Terry Pratchett! SO excited for this. Thank you so much 💜

You guys had way too much fun playing this game. I was laughing throughout. I wanted to add extra bits in so many scenes. Like when Vanya jumped into the car and did the "Vanish" feat. I wanted to add "...as you were laying on the floor in the back with Moose, he gives a little bark, bites the shoulder strap, re-aims the rifle showing Vanya the zip-line and Vanya shoots the Zipline. Moose gives Vanya a doggie kiss and Vanya says something like "Zipline, rookie move". -OR- The car chase scene: The Subaru was being chased by 3 SUVs. The Subaru drops into a secret passageway and only one SUV manages to follow. As the SUV draws closer and becomes more and more dangerous. JUST THEN - Brian (Giant worm-like creature from MIB HQ) comes in from the side and EATS the whole SUV in one bite. June looks in the rearview mirror and in shock says "WTF was that?" Agent Q replies..."That's just Brian". June replies back, "I sure hope it is potty trained?". The gears inside my head were spinning with one-shot ideas.

While 30 minutes is a lot, the difference between a normal combat round (6 seconds) in Traveller and a space combat round (6 minutes) are orders of magnitude apart. Coriolis RPG is simiarly different. The reasons given are true. It is the tyrany of distance. Over space distances light is going to take at least seconds if not minutes. From watching Happy Jacks APs, where it was stated that space combat is boring more than once, if they had taken account of the time difference in rounds it would have made for a more roleplay focused experience. And no Joey combat doesnt have to be longer. It generally is and should be more deadly than standard. That is on you Joey. If you make an ineffectual combat character in a D&D campaign you are going to spend great periods of time twiddling your thumbs. Here, here Vixie!

About GMless games, one things that's not said is that everybody is a player is also able to be a GM to advance the story..One game that does this is Ironsworn: Starforged, and like all Ironsworn games it can be played solo, two player GMless or GM with a group. And as I kept listening I heard you talk about Starforged, great. I enjoyed this episode a lot, you made me think about space fights in a new way, because if both ships don't commit there's no combat
