Can you tell us where did you buy the carpet set from? Are these the ones called "moulded set" ?
@ericsworkshop
@ericsworkshop 7 күн бұрын
This was Generic Bulk carpet I bought by the roll from a store that sells automotive carpet. I was trying to do this on the cheap and I think I only spent about $60 in materials including the sound deadening. If you don't want to deal with the all the custom cutting, a pre-cut moulded set is the way to go. I've installed a few of the Moss sets and they came out pretty well.

Thanks for the heads up. I usually try to keep the music low while talking but I put music over repetitive tool noises because I thought they might be boring for most people, but I'll keep that in mind for future videos.

Great video! I’m working on a 66’ 327 small block and my new water pump has a 1/2” plug at the top - old has no plug. What is this plug for? Can I leave the plug there?
@ericsworkshop
@ericsworkshop 11 күн бұрын
Some applications have a heater hose go directly into the pump. Just make sure it's tight and ignore it, maybe put some Teflon tape on the threads if it didn't come with thread sealer.

Enjoying the series. What air compressor do you run in the garage? Im in the market for one, and only have space for a 120 volt/ 30 gallon compressor. But curious to know if that will be enough to run the body work tools your going to be using during these repairs. Thanks~
@ericsworkshop
@ericsworkshop 12 күн бұрын
That should be fine for most of what you need. I currently run a smaller DeWalt oilless compressor mounted in the ceiling. Its only a 15 gal but has a base pressure of about 220 psi, so it behaves more like a 25-30 gal compressor. It works well enough for me, but I do run out pretty fast with hungry air tools, I only have a few good minutes with the sanders.

Got a few questions because Ive never done this before, and need to on my 87 Jimmy. For your welding, are you using flux core wire, or are you using a gas? What size/type of wire are you using for the bodywork?
@ericsworkshop
@ericsworkshop 12 күн бұрын
You should definitely use a proper MIG welder with a normal Argon/CO2 mix. You can use flux core in a pinch, but its messy and more likely to burn through. I'm currently using 0.030" wire since it works OK for most of my projects, including thick stuff, but if I were just doing bodywork, I'd switch to something a bit thinner.

how well did it ride after the lift? Im looking at doing a 4" lift with 35's at some point on my 87 Jimmy
@ericsworkshop
@ericsworkshop 12 күн бұрын
Overall, the ride is better than the old worn out shocks and saggy springs. Like with any lift, it is definitely a little more "floaty" than before and the handling took some getting used to.

@ericsworkshop
@ericsworkshop 12 күн бұрын
There should be a set of 4 lines on the cam gear, I just like to keep track of the turns at the crank since that's the easiest way to turn the engine over.

(before i found out my clipjam was absolutely fine) Im gonna take the dodosoul one to work and see if it works well, if it breaks it breaks. the bluetooth is cool but i dont like much else about it to be honest. im pretty sure the 29.99$ pricetag is half to cover the cost of an sd card and half to turn a profit..

Funny. I have pretty much the exact same thing, has the same operating system and exact same form factor but none of the DodoSoul branding. Must be one of those mass produced electronics that are cheaply built but companies will buy in bulk and just rebrand. I've noticed when I play FLAC files it stutters and the playback is all messed up. I think it doesn't read the metadata of files or takes priority of file names cause the order of my albums are just all messed up, meanwhile WinAmp will have my album tracks in the right order. Doesn't help that there is a maximum amount of characters that it'll display before it will cut off the track name with an ellipsis.

I purchased this unit for the Chicago Marathon because I want to save my cell phone battery while running. I needed something small (to fit in my pocket) and I wasn't expecting much. For $29.99 it is what it is. My songs transferred over just fine and my Beats earbuds are connecting. It allows me to speed up music with the touch of a button! Will it last? Time will tell I suppose.
