The trailhead parking address is 3104 N Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78231. I use Trailforks to navigate around. There are lots of trails both north of the bridge and south of it, all part of the more expansive Salado Creek Greenway.

Where the hell is the mountain lion?!!
@kenny910873 ай бұрын
@@takozamtbtrailscout7106 It’s in the beginning, but admittedly it’s a bad capture of it due to an editing oversight. The cat was visible on my monitor while editing my GoPro clips; I was able to go through it frame by frame. But the end result did not show it well here. So I uploaded a follow-up clip, a slow-mo of just the mountain lion darting from left to right across the trail.

That actually happened to my party out there back in the late 90's. I was in the lead going downhill. We all saw the mountain lion, came to a complete stop, did an about face, and headed back up the hill. Only I was now at the back of the pack. I started at Chautauqua Park, 602 Rucker St. in Georgetown. I used the Trailforks app to navigate the trails from there. The Chautauqua trail branches off the multi-use trail running along the back of the park. To access Gotham I crossed the University Ave. bridge, took a right and found the trail inlet going into the woods behind the bridge.

Im moving right off 337/46 next week. Looking for a new spot to ride. How many miles can you do out there? I normally do like 2 loops at mcallister park and its like 21 miles. Looking for something similar in that NB area.
@kenny910877 ай бұрын
This is a much smaller area compared to McAllister Park, I would estimate the whole system only nets about 4 miles. It is lap-able and flowy, though. For a longer XC ride (albeit more challenging and techy than Mac and NB), I'd recommend Canyon Park in Canyon Lake which is not too far from NB.
@kenny910877 ай бұрын
And there are also all the trails in San Marcos which is not far either. Between Purgatory, Spring Lake, and River Recharge you can string together a couple dozen miles for sure.
