Still fascinated by The Starlost it’s origins and how it went wrong

I am guessing the Trident title is also a cheeky nod towards Spearhead from Space, from the Pertwee era ? Just with three Doctors (a "trident") and different adversaries ?

Good review. "Dot and Bubble" was reportedly an RTD1-era script rejected t the time because it would have cost too much. The racism stuff was tacked on and felt to me that way. I found it underwhelming and Eurocentric. Gatwa is a Tutsi refugee from Rwanda, where Tutsis were slaughtered by Hutus at three times the rate the Nazis killed Jews. There is so much to work with there for a more engaged writer. I'm pretty sure where the money went: to some episodes that we shall never see because Disney nixed them as too sexual. You may remember last year when RTD was talking about how 15 would spend a lot of time trying to _plook_ Ruby's boyfriend. What boyfriend? Exactly.

I enjoyed Starlost as a young teen. It had a great concept. I haven't see it in 50 years but I don't remember it being that bad.

I remember watching Lexx with my dad back in the 90s. He was a big fan and his fascination with Lexx survived with me. My dad recorded the first 4 episodes in VHS, and I watched them many times. I had a hard time finding how to watch it for many years, living in Argentina makes it hard to buy anything over the internet to this day but I was able to watch the rest of the show somewhere around 2013-14. It is really endearing to see someone talking about it today.

Fantastic, I can't wait to see more. It's always lovely to see some love for the fan films and audios, both old and new. I've been involved in a number of fan audios myself over the last few years and you're right, every single one is made out of love. The friends I've made doing them are some of the best I've ever had. While it's not always perfect, I love this community so much.

Lexx is beyond description. It’s so insane that it’s pure genius! I watched it here in the UK on late night channel 4 and wow it was out there. Really spoke to my teenage self. Loved it.

I saw Lexx before I had a high-def TV. It definitely loses a lot with higher resolution. It was pretty racy in the time before streaming porn was readily available, so that helped its popularity with the "horny guy contingent" which was a big part of the Sci Fi viewership (also why Seven-of-Nine increased Star Trek viewership).

Thank you for doing this! I'm one of the founding members of The Federation, who started doing parody videos in the 80's. I'm glad to see we got a mention.

The Federation did some absolutely amazing work. Save WHO, the Reign of Turner, All Doctors Great and Small, etc. It's a shame that it's hard to find these days.

Jumping Jehoshaphat! @7:25 -7:46 Is that Ocean in the Sky? I thought that it was totally lost and gone for good like the Feast of Steven. What a fantastic discovery! My personal favorite fan film is Time Rift written, directed, and starring a young Jonathan Blum before the start of his professional work officially writing some of the Eighth Doctor Adventure novels.

Very good eye. That is indeed Ocean in the Sky, super8 mm fan film, 1979, shot between 76-79, publicly exhibited only once at Panopticon. Technically impressive, with a full sized Tardis Interior set, a briefly glimpsed full sized police box prop that had actually been used on television (just not Doctor Who itself), plus four separate full sized home-made Daleks, and a bunch of spaceship effects footage by Kevin Davie. Courtesy of Mark Sinclair. Time Rift is good, but there are so many more...

I watched this on CVD (Yeah you are old if you know this name) when I were still a kid. I remember the awkward of the whole story when the protagonists are not what I used to at that point. We got Stanley Tweedle, The suppose to be a hero but he's always horny and a coward. Then We got Kai, Who seem to be the most capable of the bunch but he kept being.......Well, Asshole is the least word to describing him. There are also Zev, Who are suppose to act as a damsel of a group. But then she's way too violence to consider as one. And the Technology in this world........That one episode where they imply to "recycle" everyone single citizen on the station into a goop is something I still can't wipe from my memory to this day. In conclusion? Really love this damn show!!!

Stick to the side camera, it's 1000x better than your laptop's webcam which is a potato horror show 🤡 I'd recommend a Logitech Brio if you're looking for a 4k webcam...
