As we all know, he/Bix died too early. He, like Armstrong, Jabbo Smith, Joe Smith and others of his day simply transformed improvs on the old tunes into the most-lasting of early examples of jazz, from its beginnings ... on the cornet and/or trumpet.

The unmistakable charm of Tango is beyond discussion, music that makes the strings of the soul vibrate, like this unforgettable melody. The video, the choir and the orchestra are also beautiful 👍🙏🙋♂️😍🎻🎼🌹🎶✨

Yes, this is a rather vocal interpretation, which is really good and stylish. Salvador Pizzaro is a lesser known interpreter, Manuel (his brother, I believe) has been better remembered.

Nice! Adiós muchachos = bye my dear friends (today you could ear this expresion between men greater than 40 years in Argentina, but younger people usualy say Chicos in the same context.
@2402522 күн бұрын
Thanks for your explanation about "muchachos" and "chicos". There must be a somewhat similar differentiation as in English between "fellows, folks" and "buddies", I believe.

You forgot in the description that Gardel, who was born in Toulouse, France and due to his fear that he would be arrested if he stepped in French soil for avoiding military service during World War I he registered in the Uruguayan Embassy in Buenos Aires as having been born in Montevideo (he arrived at the age of 3) and obtained an Uruguayan passport with which he traveled approximately around 1923 to France and did a successful run in Paris cabarets. He later returned to Buenos Aires where he started his recording career and around 1930 was offered in Hollywood to star in Spanish-speaking cinema produced in the USA. He instantly became one of the first stars of Spanish "sound films" and helped popularize sound film in a region where silent cinema still was the norm. He died while on tour on an airplane accident in Colombia in 1935. Still considered an icon in Argentina and the Spanish-speaking world.

How could I forget the great Carlos Gardel?! But I skipped his name in purpose, for it is only a brief info and mostly the tango orchestras are mentioned by me. But your informations about Gardel's life sound sensational to me. I never read his biography, that's why his French origins seem a sensation to me. At any rate, he seems to have made a very good job as an "Uruguayan" in South America :-))) Thank you a lot!

@240252 He eventually became a naturalized Citizen of the Republic of Argentina. He always believed he was an Argentinan at heart and considered Buenos Aires his hometown to the day of his dead. He was a true icon and a profilic artist: singer, actor, songwritter.

I am Polish and I love Jewish culture and I have Jewish friends. It's terrible that there is still anti-Semitism in the world. Interestingly, pre-war Poland had the largest Jewish diaspora in the world, and in Warsaw and Łódź (my hometown) there were the largest Jewish communities/diasporas in the world (the largest one was in New York). This was because Poland was once the most tolerant country in Europe. I would like to go back to the interwar period and see that lost world, and our beautiful pre-war Warsaw... Greetings from Łódź, Poland! God bless you all! 🤍✝❤ P.S. I reccomend you to watch "The Promised Land" from 1974 by Andrzej Wajda, it's about Łódź, the city of 4 cultures
