This one ranks up there in difficulty with Super Castlevania IV for the SNES. Definitely a tricky one to beat without passwords.

I agree. Those two were among the hardest in the series to beat. I think it had to do with the stiff controls, and visual elements.

Absolutely love this game, grew up watching my brother play it in the late 1980’s, vowed one day to beat it myself, took many, many years but finally did..nice video 👌

It's one of the better classics. Glad you finally beat it. Once you learn the tricks it's doable.

@ yeah the only 2 parts that are Russian roulette no matter what is area 4 : wall blocks, and the machine gun boss😂…I could be having the perfect game, either of those 2 goes south, game over💀 atleast for me

The first time my brothers played this it was from a rental cartridge. I don't know what it was about boys in the 80's, but they were so invested in beating games no matter how challenging. Always itching to get back in and do a complete playthrough, lol!

I remember playing this in the lobby area of the Tae Kwon Do dojo I trained at. They had an old NES hooked up to a CRT TV.

Excellent idea! I thought of this early on when I had zero skins. It would be nice to let new players pick their default as a permanent.

If I chose to run & gun & play the objective I'd likely use the trophy system. Seems no one carries it with them when I play.
