That is such incredible craftsmanship and patience. Its great to hear you explain it all, but clearly it is the highest skill level in coach building and you have it. ❤❤❤.

Peter, if you were talking about the door panel and saying that it fits very well, you are wrong because it still needs a lot of refinement.
@Handbuilt13 ай бұрын
We only show the procedure to how to make the panel ,once it's made (as shown ) we will do the refinement before finally weld it to the door.

Fantastic teacher and tradesman. When I was a panel beater they would tell us off for doing the job properly and say bog it hurry up. Then modern cars came along and i just lost interest. Great video.

Thank you,...... you are right now a days and for a wile there is not such thing as panel beating. What a shame !
@petergoodwin246511 ай бұрын
@Handbuilt1 so true , they are just assemblers now. Usually the car is a write off even from a small tap. Mate has a panel shop and said most can't even weld now. Very sad to see but everything is throwaway.

thanks for taking the time to create these videos Peter. they are full of very useful information. i have a question on where you put the weld seams on the front and rear fenders - the panels sitting on the buck appear to curve beyond the centre line of the panels. are you putting the weld seams more toward the inner side of the fender centre line or is this simply because the panels sitting on the buck need more trimming back to the centre line before welding?
@Handbuilt1 Жыл бұрын
the weld must be away from the return , so the next panel will be welded away from the center line

Thank you for taking the time to post this Peter. The 1200 grit blocking can't be argued. With a low crown panel like a door skin, one might be able to get away with using the flat dies. For polished high crown panels, it seems imperative to use full radius or you will be forced to sand heavily to remove the flats. I purchased your DVD's many years ago and they helped me quite a lot.
