A great early farm for additions is the lizard men in the forest just before you reach the commercial city of Lohan, wait for them to use "physical barrier" and wail on them. If they attack, defend until they use the barrier again. This does also work later with other enemies who use the same ability, just keep in mind their invincibility only lasts until they attack again.

Ohhh this is genius! My strat used to be to grind my additions throughout disc 1 and then wait until I was at the Valley of Corrupted Gravity. I'd pick the additions with the most SP gain and seek out the spiders, guarding until they spawned their physical atk barriers and then grind out the dragoon levels there. It took ages compared to this and I thought I was really doing it quick lol Edit: I wish I could track down my save file, but iirc I had all my dragoon levels and additions for everyone and 75-ish hours on the clock by the time I hit the last save before Melbu

I haven't forgotten about Kagero. It's one of few games on my interest list. But atm I need dental work done and I'd feel like I'd be half assing it on a game the requires this much reading and talking before I'm 100%. Idk if I can beat it but I do plan to play it again. I still don't know much about Kagero D2 yet but I got "Yocal's theme" on my playlist as a reminder.

I think if you merged the combat system from this game, and its nicer graphics, with Oni, you'd have the perfect game 🙂

For what it's worth you did miss one or two items in the pool. I don't know if they are healing items but I know there's stuff to pick up in there. But yeah, the game gets a little brutal at this point. I remember viscerally hating that second boss fight.

Agree with your early assessment. The game doesn't make a strong first impression. That being said, having played the whole game, I did find it memorable, but not for the characters or story, just for the deep combat.

I would've never expected to see a guide for Soul Edge in 2024. Even if the consensus is that this game is no as near as good as its successors, is always interesting to see how the franchise began and how different it was. Vey nice video.

This game's combat system is wild, and so is the control scheme :-) Seriously though, there's nothing quite like the combat in this game. I hope you can find some things to appreciate in it.

All I remember about this game was it was completely broken, characters had dizzy combos, then you can combo again and they still would be dizzy. Like infinite combos. Flash hits you with his tornado he can then dash in and just infinite combo you to death. Cheetahs infinite combo was also 2 buttons.

I'd keep the same aesthetic of turn based combat but more refined ... there are some text misspellings, but yeah, and adding more additions to unlock and a fresh coat of paint . Im not asking for much, really

Casque is unnecessary. The fastest I've done this fight so far was mainly thanks to Haschel. Speed down, power down on Faust then Power Up Speed up on Haschel. His physical attacks will do 9999 and this will take him out in a couple of attacks from Haschel. Magic will do less overall damage in this fight due to Faust having much lower physical defense.

After a light/medium/heavy input a forward dash and press/hold back or down before your next attack. If you don't press back or down then you'll get a dash attack instead. It's been awhile but I think this combo is (Crouch L, M, Dash - Back, Stand L, M, Dash - Down... Ends with a combo-able hit grab to deplete their blue gauge... Activates "THE BLUE" with the select button (on playstation)... and from there it's just using your best judgement.

Which would you say is the best 2k on the ps2? I love that you created that many players! You have a the ultimate amalgamation on new stars abd old legend ! Also, the fact that the game says the created players names add immersion to the game. The older 2ks would just say the number with no cyberface. I wish the game would have the created player cyberface though!

Haha, I just can't let go of what I grew up on. Choosing the best is tough. If we're talking best gameplay and association I'd have to go with 2k5 (haven't played 2k6 - 2k8 on ps2). Even though I think 2k5 is the best quality wise, it lacks in the technology advancements that 2k9 has. 2k9 has the tendencies and more playsets but it's flooded with glitches that make it almost unplayable. Can't make layups, shooting is bugged, game glitches out and crashes if you look at stats during a game... These glitches continue all the way until the last 2k on ps2 2k12 - there are actually more glitches added in fact. So it depends on what you're looking for. If you want something that works then go with 2k5 through 2k7 or 8. But if you want the best in technology advancements then I'd say 2k11 is the best of the glitch-ridden 2ks but it'll require a lot of elbow grease to make it fun.

0:29 By the looks of it, damage wise it is about the same in NG+ hard mode. In both regards of damage recieved and damage dealt. Belial is able to 3 hit you with max health/body core even on my 4th playthrough. Bosses in hard mode have about 2-3 times more health. While I can melt Gigas in normal mode in a couple seconds, it takes me a couple minutes in NG+ hard mode cause of the sheer tankiness. 19:50 machine hives are no joke. They are super tanky and can 2 hit you. I was super surprised needless to say.

42:43 Yeah she can blink into blink, repulse, unblockable, frenzy and much more. Very unpredictable. But that boss fight is one of my favorites for sure. 1:41:22 The alternate final boss is also considered as one of the hardest. Completely depends on who is playing.

Unidentified was definitely the boss that felt the most serious to me. I'd say that, Tachy, and Demowalker all felt like the peak moments that I'll remember most years from now. I got to the final boss but I'm not sure if it's the same one you're referring to.

Great stuff. Should have more views, but since the bigger channels oversaturate the smaller ones it makes it tough. Aside from that, I tried some of your tech and the newer stuff and timings are very difficult. It's like they don't want you yo do it lol.

Bruh imma be honest… I ain’t touched this shit since I peeped had to start from the beginning when the full game came because I didn’t keep the demo… AND them changing up combos… the main thing that made me pre order this shit is crazy.. I never even made it back to the demo boss on the full game
