I saw Ricky perform Country Boy at the Grand Ole Opry. You couldn't even see his fingers, they were moving so fast. I hope the audience appreciated how much they were blessed with these two legends being on the stage at the same time!

So glad my Papa introduced me to bluegrass as a boy. As I got older it was “our thing”. He’s gone on now, but I still have great songs like this to remind me of him.

I love brother bill. My pappy died in 1998. Timber cutter and worked in the zinc mill . He was tired and wore out. He took off his oxygen hose and fell asleep he was 82. He didn't complain and died like a man.

I had forgotten just how downright GOOD these men were (RIP Bill Monroe). I had to laugh at Monroe's expression at one moment: when they are crowding the mic, Rikki reaches up and tips Bill's hat away from his head in mid lyric. Always a pro, Bill finishes the lyric, then gives Rikki a 'quizzical' look. Wonderful gem!

I saw Ricky in concert in Knoxville Tennessee in the early 80's. I remember it snowed that day but that didn't keep us away. It was a great concert and so much fun. My hubs and I went with my brother and sister-in-law. We hadn't been married long. I'll never forget that night. I'm a Tennessee girl and love some good bluegrass that I can tap my foot to. Always loved Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder! 💙 God bless 'em.
