Followed the video exactly, did one pop out today, going to do the other tomorrow. I was concerned about using the "come along" ratcheting strap, but it did work. Glycerin can get a bit too slippery.

Like to see a 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, and 1952 VW Split window Beetles with an aftermarket "California" pop out rear windows. Usually pop out rear windows are common for 1965 to 1970 VW Beetles. Like to see a fender skirts on the 1950, 1951, and 1952 VW Bugs which give it a luxury car look, such as a Cadillac look. There are no changes for 1951 and 1952 VW Beetles. For 1950 VW Bug, the changes are: Wolfsburg crest added over the hood handle, Chrome trimmings around the windows are added, Solex carburetor was introduced, and Hydraulic brake introduced; formerly mechanical brake. It was not until 1953 which VW Beetle has as many as 18 changes, both body and mechanical changes.

Thanks for making the video. I need to do the same on my 63 notch. Do you think the "ratcheting strap" method would work for the round piece too? Maybe dual "ratcheting straps" in both X and Y directions?
@mchatm5 жыл бұрын
I've heard of guys using that method too. You can find some write ups on thesamba.com. I didn't have any straps at the time.
