The Chapter to which you referred to -dear questioner, is the chapter of “Kissing the Foot”, in which Imaam Al-Bukhaari mentioned a Hadeeth and a statement of a companion. The Hadeeth was narrated by Az-Zaari’ ibn ‘Aamir, who said: "We came and we were told, 'That (over there) is the Messenger of Allah.' We took his hands and feet and kissed them." The chain of narrators of this Hadeeth includes Umm Abaan bint Al-Waazi’ who is unknown. As for the statement of the companion, it was of Suhayb, who said: “I saw ‘Ali kissing the hands and feet of Al-‘Abbaas.” [End of quote] Shaykh Al-Albaani considered it as Dha’eef (inauthentic) due to Suhayb (who is unknown and) who was the servant of Al-‘Abbaas ibn ‘Abdul-Muttalib. The fact that Al-Bukhaari mentioned this Chapter does not necessary mean that what is mentioned in it is authentic. As for the reason why Shaykh Al-Albaani removed that number of narrations, then this is something he did and it is his won judgment. He thought that it is better to separate the authentic narrations from the inauthentic ones and put each set in a separate book. He did the same thing in the four books of Sunan, and people may differ with him on that, as it was possible to classify the authentic and inauthentic narrations while keeping the book in its original version as authored by its author. He built a strawman argument to get his point across. Nobody has an issue with a righteous child making du'a for their deceased loved ones. Nobody has an issue with feeding people. The issue is that the Prophet (ﷺ) advised us of EVERYTHING that would bring us nearer to Allaah azza wa jal... And making congregational du'a over food in this manner & asking for those blessings to reach the dead is nowhere to be found in the Authentic Sunnah. May Allaah ta'ala guide us to what is correct.

Daleel is invalid because the correct view is that: Everything is permissible in Islam except that which has been specifically prohibited It only proves that lengthening the beard is Waajib. But keeping one fist length can not be termed as waajib. If it was waajib, then it means it is a really important ruling in Islam, then tell me how come the Prophet swallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam and the Sahabas did NOT mention it at all ? Action of the Sahabi: Maybe it was Sunnah Aadiyat and his manner was to keep one fist length. If this practice can be proved from a great number of Companions then it would be something else. But one Sahabi's action to establish it as waajib is an irresponsible Fatwa according to what appears.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: Sadaqah jaariyah (ongoing charity, e.g. endowment) Beneficial knowledge (which he has left behind and others benefit from it) A righteous child who will pray for him.” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no 1376; he said this is a saheeh hasan hadeeth)

People who object to khatams do so because it is an innovation (bidat) not that food will go to the dead. The prophet (saw) nor his Sahaba ever did these khatams for the dead. This guy is deliberately spread misinformation.
