Great wee video this week Sean. Comparing the brain to the likes of a workbench. I know my brain likes to be active having tasks scattered about to work on. How often do you tidy that workbench, and how do you go about it?

Thanks Andrew, I continually clear it by completing tasks which allows me to step forward thought the steps of progress. So I limit the number of tasks I work on at a time and ensure I keep completing and progressing what I am working on. At a higher level, how do I switch off and reset...? This is a hard one and one I struggle with. Personally the best thing I have found is mountain biking. No phone, no TV, just exercise, fun, fresh air and nature. Works everytime to clear the mind and reset.

Glad to have come across this Sean. I'm thinking about my future being in the final year of mechanical and manufacturing engineering, Magee UU. Inventor is the job description I have dreamt of growing up, wanting to put my name on concepts or products that are useful. You talk of growing up and it sounded similar to mine. I've heard "This is the way it has always been done", as an apprentice and don't want to be held behind this when wanting to think inside a new box. I hope to be going back into work after I graduate, so what advice would you give to keep fuelling the "inventors fire" or inventive desire while entering the working field? Even though right now you may only have 2 subscribers, you have at least helped me, so keep them coming! I might just get in contact with you on linked in?

Hi Andrew, thank you for the message and I am glad to hear that I have helped you. I have lots more content to come so hopefully this will help even more. I completely understand what you mean and yes by all means feel free to contact me on LinkedIn and we can arrange to have a bit of a chat. In terms of fueling the inventive fire I am innately curious so I am constantly examining and figuring things out, which is constantly expanding the range of potential solutions or fractions of solutions I have. Secondly you have work work somewhere that let's to express/practice this side of you. If not at work then at home and in your spare time.

Coming from Linked in. As a former apprentice and current undergraduate mechanical and manufacturing engineer, it is an encouragement to listen. Even in my short window, I recognize an engineer is not happy with just ideas but desires effects from execution, easily neglecting market context. Sean, you're a natural when it comes to podcast-style, informative content. Keep going, and I look forward to getting notified of the next video.

Thanks a million Andrew for the kind words and I am glad you found it encouraging. I think it will take a bit of work before it feels natural but I'm happy with the first go! ☺ I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the following videos and thanks for subscribing.
